  1. Open Internet Explorer 8.
  2. Navigate to Google.
  3. Search Mozilla Firefox and download, then install it.
  4. Uninstall Internet Explorer 8. Run Mozilla Firefox.

With firefox, i don't bother to use that addon, due to being able to highlight a 'link' and alt-clicking to open link/URL in new tab/window.

Pretty much any browser (Chrome, Firefox and Opera, don't know/care about others) supports highlighting and right click -> open URL, which opens in a new tab.
