Have you been hunting for these already? Now it's your time to catch them!

View Results
[Tier 1] Paying two thirds of what the Deluxe edition costs during a sale seems a good deal to me.
[Tier 2] Adding $10 more to play these till Sunbreak? Count me in.
[Tier 3] How could I possibly get one game and not the other too? Now, only to wait till Monster Hunter Wilds releases next year...
[Tier 4] I'm Iceborne, but this bundle is ON FIRE!
[Have] I've played these games so much that by now I'm wondering who the real monster is: me, or them?
[Expensive] That price really, really, really hurts.
[Skip] Why even bother getting these if they're incomplete editions?

Love these games, but I have World and Iceborne on Steam, and Rise and Sunbreak on Switch. Would probably still have bought it if I could have cross-platform saves, but they didn't care to add that so I don't particularly want to pay any amount to restart the game...

I've never played a Monster Hunter.

MH Rise has the "Anime" tag on Steam. Does it have an anime art style or something? The screenshots don't really show any characters. What about World?

World basically has the western reboot vibes. It's not in a bad way though. Talking appearances only.

Have both Rise and World base game which makes sales cheaper than the bundle for me. These types of bundles where it's only worth it if you don't have any of the games but in which case you also wouldn't know if you like the series enough for the price are a tough sell.

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah, these Capcom bundles are just sales in disguise. I'd hardly call them a typical bundle. I always have a few games from them so it usually kills the deal.. and in this case the only real value is the DLC. The base games are nearly worthless because Capcom wants you to overpay for the DLC if you've already got the game

I do think that this is technically worth it if you're definitely going to play these games, but IMO it should be 20-25% cheaper. Surely the idea with this bundle is to try to build up the fanbase a bit ahead of Wilds' launch next year...

it's almost a buy for me : 10€ for a big game like this is tempting, but less immersive than other MH games

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I get that - I consider World to be pretty immersive and certainly I believe some of the QoL improvements from the older titles are welcome, but I understand some fans of the older titles not being super happy with the changes. I like most of the games since Tri and World is probably my favourite.

Yeah, I don't get how it works myself. Maybe there is something else that affects how the key works in such cases.

I meant that I am not used to check the title of the box, because until now there was always only one kind representing the region locks (+an additional one for run locks), but now there's one extra red box listing the countries in which the game has no price (which I find very useful).
Because I did not read the title of the box carefully, I thought that list represents the region excluded countries, and not no-price countries.
A game not having price in your country doesn't mean that you can't redeem a key for it. Those are two different things.

I was going to buy it (Tier 4).

But then I saw how many games for bundles are already waiting in my backlog...
Apart from that, Monster Hunter looks like a very nice and interesting game, but nowadays I don't have that much free time...
So I thought, being such a famous game, it is probable to have a similar bundle (or even with more DLCs). Taking into account it is expensive, I won't play soon and I have no pressure to play right now...

I think I will wait (not totally decided tough) [I don't know, I may be addicted to buying bundles even if I have no time to play them...]

In New Zealand (which I assume is Oceania?), keys say the following when redeemed:
MONSTER HUNTER RISE (Other Areas of CSG)
MONSTER HUNTER RISE Deluxe Kit
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak (Other Areas of CSG)
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Deluxe Kit
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne (Other Areas of CSG)
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Deluxe Kit
I already owned Monster Hunter World (base game only) so haven't redeemed that. Trying to work out whether I can sell it on Gameflip, or just redeem it on my son's Steam account. Assuming MHW is also region locked to Other Areas of CSG, can anyone tell me what countries that includes or excludes please?
Is it possibly this sub? https://steamdb.info/sub/1020015/

What does your gift link notification for Monster Hunter World say?
If it says "can only be redeemed in" + AU HK KR MO NZ SG TW then it's probably sub/1020015/

It would also help if you could share a screenshot of what you mean by "Other Areas of CSG" (or just copy the country codes here, that works too). "only in" / "not in" is also essential.

And would you look at that, after the bundle ends on humble, a sale goes on steam (for rise) for lower than the humble store price (albeit no cosmetic dlc)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Unless you are in a region with lower prices for Capcom titles I'd say you are wrong. In EU bundle had better prices.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Depends on what you want. If you want Iceborne and Sunbreak, then sure. But if you want only the base games, Steam has it for a better price.

Permalink

Not even for those. T1 was €9.28 while Rise is €9.99 for me. Steam would be only better if you only wanted World (with or without DLC).

Didn't even know this pack existed cause it doesn't show up on my page. Anyway MH has weird bundle prices, world and its DLC have a $20 USD bundle that makes the base game 5 dollars and keeps the DLC on sale while base is $10 alone without it, or is that normal stuff with bundles?

Should I play Monster Hunter Rise or World first?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Start with Monster Hunter: World if you’re new to the series and want a polished, story-driven introduction.
Move to Monster Hunter: Rise after you’re familiar with the mechanics and want to explore faster gameplay and verticality.
Both games are excellent in their own right, and you can enjoy them in either order. If you’re still undecided, consider which setting or playstyle appeals to you more! Let me know if you want details about expansions like Iceborne (World) or Sunbreak (Rise).

Comment has been collapsed.

Fanatical bundle is better because you can choose games, so you can skip cosmetic DLC.. Can just buy World+Iceborn and Rise+Sun..

And if you have 5% coupon from previous orders the price, in euros for me, is for everything €23.74 vs Humbles 24.05€

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

So it's €0.31 for all the extra DLC? That's not that much more to pay.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It depends what you look for I suppose. The contents are same, fanatical just lets you choose.

For example:

  • For just games+expansions the price, WITH coupon, would be 17.09€ on fanatical.
  • Humble asks 19.24€ for World, Rise, Sunbreak but no iceborne incuded - you get cosmetic DLC tho! So its kinda up to you do you want cosmetics.

If you just want one Game+Expansion of choice, then fanatical wins ( 9.99€ for 2 items) since you cant pick world+iceborne on humble.

And pros about Humble is that you can donate almost everything to charity.
And you get coupon for "stories" which isnt great for non-choice members(if sales stack) because all time low is -35% and coupon expires february.

Edit: comparision of tiers if youd pick 1:1 via fanatical..without coupons

Tier 1: 9.99€ Fanatical / 9.62€ Humble - You can choose game+expansion not just game+"deluxe kit" tho)
Tier 2: 17.99€ Fantical / 14.43€ Humble - You could get all 2 games and 2 expansions with this tho)
Tier 3: 27€ fanatical / 19.24€ humble.
Tier 4: 25€ F / 24€ humble - If you have coupon its 23.74€ for fanatical.

So TL;DR:

Pick Humble if you dont have Fanatical 5% coupon and generic ones dont work and you plan to get everything.
If you dont care about cosmetics (I dont), fanatical lets you pick games+expansions for 17.99€ while humble locks iceborne behind last tier.
