Fun Fact: Another post that took me 1 hour. -_-

I'm considering on buying a laptop instead of a PC because I'm going to college in a few months and I'm going to be traveling a lot. Was planing to build this PC, but with the upcoming future, I think won't be able to use it because of the small dorm and traveling. I might change my mind when the Haswell Information comes out in the coming days or if my future changes.

Anyways the Laptops I'm considering are:

*Lenovo Y500 ($900) [15.6", i-5 3230M, 6GB RAM, 1TB 5400 RPM HDD, GT650M SLI, Win 8].

Or I could also get the i-7+8GB one. It's just $100 more.

*MSI GE60 ($900) [15.6", i-5 3230M, 8GB RAM, 750GB 5400 RPM HDD, GTX650M, Win 7].

*MSI GE60 v2 ($1150) [15.6", i-7 3630QM, 8GB RAM, 750GB 7200 RPM HDD, GTX 660M, Win 8].

*ASUS G75 ($1300) [17.3", i-7 3610QM, 12 GB RAM, 1500 GB 7200 RPM HDD, GTX 660M, Win 7].

Or this G75. Differences are 8GB RAM, 750GB HDD, Win 8.

*And for the high end-ish: MSI GT70 ($1750) [17.3", i7-3630QM, 16 GB RAM, 128 SDD, 750GB 7200 RPM HDD, GTX 675M, Win 8.

I'm leaning towards the MSI GE60. Or the Lenovo Y500. But what do you guys think?

No luck.. [Ended :o]

Nice point. It's kinda better performance vs carrying. Maybe easier carrying would be better. So which laptop would you suggest?

The only reason I leaned more towards the first GE60 is because it has Windows 7 and good rating at Newegg . o_o But informing with you with that, should I go for the v2 one because of better specs?

Interesting thread. The two things I got out from it were; What laptops not to get and customizable laptops. I looked into customizable laptops and they were great! But it's just the cost. I'm looking for around $1100. $1400+ is a little to much for me at the moment.

All of these are terrible. Get Razer™. Ever since I started using my Razer™ laptop, my DPS has increased in all my games.

Razer™ truly are the best.

ASUS G75 sounds good, but if you want to go a bit lower, then the MSI GE60 doesn't sound too bad of a choice either.

If you go to Lenovo's Barn's and Noble or Student Discount site and/or haggle on the phone with a representative (just tell them you're a student that looking into other option: insert other laptops here) you can get a Y500 with 750M SLI and an i7 3630QM for around $1,000.

Even at it's normal price the y500 is easily the best deal, as it's performance rivals (or exceeds) that of the MSI GT70. This website isn't the best resource for benchmark comparisons but it's accurate enough to give an approximate comparison.

I have G75VX with i7-3630QM and GTX 670MX

Loving it.

If youre a gamer, you need min. GTX 660m GPU. GT GPU's aint good for gaming.

About Y500.. SLi has allways its own problems.
