Hi all,

check this out: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1447560584/more-oldschool-turn-based-4x-space-strategy-game

It's going to be inspired by Master of Orion 2 and it looks great so far.

They will have turnbased 3d combat, lots of races, customizable ships (not just loadout but visual design as well),...

Also, they already received their main goal, so any additional funding will go to making the game even better!

It's not costly to pledge and receive the game either, only 10$, the price of pizza (where I live anyway).

Greetings :)

Nice, I'm all for more 4X games.

But why is it that games set in space often use that hard to read narrow font in their UI? E.V.E. Online and Sins of a Solar Empire both used it, if I remember correctly. This reminds me, I need to play more Sins.

Heh, no idea, and I actually never noticed text being a problem, but let's hope for your sake that they will not do it that way in their final product then ^^

Cool avatar, btw. Is it from Spiral Knights? (I can't play that game in my region).

I love 4x games, but it's difficult for me to spend more than $5 on any single game. There's just a plethora of free games out there, and steam sales often drop prices even lower...

I'm saying $10 is too much for an indie game, especially one you won't get for more than a year.

I wish them the best of luck though.

It looks quite nice, but then again, Master of Orion 3 was also inspired by Master of Orion 2 and it had some nice visuals (for the time), too.

Some people of the team seem very young to even know MoO2. And I hate it when they tend to glorify everything in Kickstarter-Trailers. What they call "original design and music" isn't that original.
From the actual gamedesign it looks from the trailer like a Master of Orion 2 clone, with the removal of starlanes (which is nice) and the addition of 3D turn based combat. They didn't show the 3D combat interface, which is bad, since it is hard to make it fun.

It still looks very promising.

Looks cool. And the benefit of being community funded is that the developers have a closer connection to the community and the community has a louder voice. So back it, and give feedback.

Yup and they have already proven they listen and are not afraid to change things, but also that they won't try to please everyone and can hold true to their goals (which is also (maybe even more so) important).
