I'll be happy if just a handful of games or DLCs on my ITAD waitlist hit historic lows for a few dollars each.
With me getting games through bundles, gifting, and other non-purchase means since this past winter, I have no reason to stray far from my backlog for much money, especially when there's no "OMG MUST PLAY NOW" new game for me at the moment.

another sale, another batch of complains on how 80% off isn't enough. 🤷

To be fair, I wasn't even planning a Steam account when the "legendary" Sales and price glitches were allegendly happening. I'll gladly accept a 75% discount on a game which won't get (re)bundled anytime soon. Demanding 90% off is just wishful thinking in most cases.

You make it sound like 80% is enough... surely that's not what you're saying... right...?

Part of me wonders if there will be something special about this sale, or if it will be especially good, given the whole recent Epic thing. Steam's always been known as the sale king/home of the best sales (at least to me--I remember those viral "Steam Summer Sale Wallet vs Gaben" youtube videos), and they can't have Epic taking that title right? Maybe flash sales and the like will make a return?

Ahhhh damn, I didn't follow the steam prices. Did the big publishers already raise their store prices just to offer a 80% discount?

I living in the age of bundles. 100-150 games on my account I would like to play and not touched yet. Also, the games get a heavy discount nowadays already after 1 month. My wishlist has many games but no point to buy anything with my backlog. My wallet is safe (unless I get some DLC for a game on backlog)

Prepare for people with hundreds of games to complain about how there are no good deals and how disappointing the sales are now that they have everything

Haven't participated in Steam summer sales in a couple years... Do they do the flash/daily sales or it's just a regular week sale?

They dropped daily and flash sales a few years ago when they changed the refund policy. Now everything has a fixed discount for the duration of the sale.

Imma pick up Cities Skylines if it's 75% off or more, and that's about the whole plan.

I'm hoping for a big big sale on Assassin's Creed Syndicate - I've wanted to play for a while bu honestly I don't want to spend too much money on it XD

Yeah I also want to play it, but the discount on it seems to never reflect it's age. In the past AC games base price got discounted a lot quicker, but at the time syndicate got released, that seemed to stop.Maybe this will be the year it gets a better cut.

The Gold Edition was like 70% 2-3 weeks ago.
A lot of other Ubisoft games where also far above a 50% discount too.
Usually the Assasins Creed games have their best discounts outside of the mayor sales.
So i think during the summer sale you will only see a normal 50% discount.

Hopefully for you i am wrong.
I am playing it right now and overall i really like it.
Collectibles where never so much fun. Prepare to get the most hilarous description in how beer are tasting ever ;)

I just finished that game last week. It's a fantastic game and I really enjoyed what it brings to the table. Being able to switch between two different characters was a nice touch and I also enjoyed the Dreadful Crimes DLC (if you like doing some detective work you should look into this pack). Here's to hoping you catch a discount you like, because it's worth the play through. :)
