I really want my friend to win, but I'm worried he won't.
What if some other entry wins in his place?

you want someone to win, just send as a gift. no point creating a GA for that.

Pretty sure it's against the rules to create private giveaways and only have one person enter, however I'm not sure... You should probably check them out...

Pretty concerning that your response to someone claiming something is against the rules is "Don't tell me what to do" lol.

But luckily, he is wrong. It isn't against the rules. To answer your question, there's nothing the site or its mods will do for you if you don't get a winner that you like. You can choose to not give the winner the game but then you will have a "Not Received" gift on your profile. Obviously, I don't recommend that course of action.

I said "Don't tell me what to do" because I already knew it wasn't against the rules :P
See the emoticon? Shows I'm joking around.

Usually, if someone warns me about something that I'm doing wrong, I thank them.
Now I say usually, because if that person's being a jerk, or I already know, I won't thank them.

And my point was why does it take time to choose a winner when there was only one entry? I mean, it's just one entry. I already know who the winner will be. I'm not asking for a reroll or anything.

Uh let's see... How about getting a blacklist approved, then having a giveaway with two entries and putting the person you don't want to win on your blacklist? What a devious plan!

But that's breaking the rules.

PS: I know its a joke, but it's too close to sg gold one imho

Actually, I don't think that would be against the rules, as long as it isn't a fake giveaway. It's just really sketchy, and support most likely wouldn't grant your reroll request in case the person on your blacklist wins.

AFAIK blacklist cannot be changed while GA using it is open. And that's how I understood yours post. Maybe just misread, but others could interpret it the same way and think it's a good way to game a system

Nope, no rule against it and no contributor value for it.

No, just that he won't get any CV for it if it has only one entry.

I think it's more of a "the giveaway only had one entry, why does it take time to choose a winner" post.

Exactly. I thought that'd be more obvious.
