Best fighter: Baki the Grappler, History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi

Best drama: Clannad, Angel beats, Toradora!

Best fantasy: Drrr!, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Stein;Gate, Sword Art Online, Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann, Ghost in the shell *

Best comedy: Gintama, Angel beats, K-on!, B-Gata H-Kei , Seitokai Yakuindomo

Best mystic: Bakemonogatari*, Another

And Elfen Lied. WHY THE HELL THEY MAKE FROM IT TITSHOW crap it. :< If you skip nude scenes is pretty dramatic anime too.

The best anime ever is the one that matches you and is the most enjoyable by you.

I watched Claymore a long time ago it is a very good anime but a.t.m my favorite anime ( going by which one i watch the most) would be Naruto or Fairy Tail :D

For me the best animes are: Samurai Champloo, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (strictly only the first 2 seasons), Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann,
Shinryaku! Ika Musume and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei (even if it's filled with political/social/pop cultural jokes and untranslatable japanese puns that no non-japanese will ever understand it fully, it's still one very enjoyable watch).

Great Teacher Onizuka. It's also the first series I watched so there might be some bias..

Then again, there are other masterpieces like Nodame Cantabile, Clannad After Story, Ghost in the Shell (minus the second movie) and Planetes so it's quite hard to decide.
