Hi, I really like this site and what it stands for.

What I’m wondering is how often do you giveaway games and usually how much are they worth?
How do you usually get hold of your games? Like on steam sales or just randomly decide to buy them?
I’m still in university and rather skint at the moment but I’m planning on contributing regularly and trying to see what’s a good way to start. Also any tips on how to get hold of games to gift if you don’t just use steam.
Thanks Ryan

1.) At least once a week
2.) Randomly buy them unrelated to sale
3.) 42 because 42

Good way to start for you is daily deals, midweek maddness stuff etc
"Also any tips on how to get hold of games to gift if you don’t just use steam" - i dont understand this

I think he means reliable websites where you can purchase cheap games that can be redeemed on steam.

If you're looking for sales, there's always reddit.
And http://www.steamgamesales.com/, of course :)

Ohhh that. Well i know for a fact that many people buy Steam redeemable codes on amazon, greenmangaming and gamersgate and if you decide to buy any Steamworks game anywhere, you'll be sure to get a Steam key too. Just be careful not to be region locked (there are some (RU) games with that issue)

1) when I feel like it
2) buy things on an exceptionally good sale, then decide later whether I want to keep it or gift it
3) I use gamersgate a lot. The stacking 15% discount from IGN is fantastical

IGN stacking discount?

If you get IGN prime, there's a permenant, stacking 15% discount on everything you buy from GamersGate. So if you plan on buying tons of stuff, sign up for 1 month of IGN prime, apply the code, and grab whatever games IGN prime is handing out, then cancel your subscription. Honestly the discount code is worth it by itself if you buy enough videogames.

I do giveaways whenever I feel like it, with no specific schedule.
I get mostly games on sales, or multi-packs. I do some trading too and sometime I'll just share one of the game I got through a trade.
Good places to buy games outside of Steam are GamersGate, Green Man Gaming, Amazon US and Nuuvem. (Just make sure they are redeemable on Steam)

  1. I never buy anything that's not on sale. Why would I pay only 1 gift, if I can wait for a bit and get 5 gifts for the same amount of moneyz?
  2. I use random.org to plan my giveaways. Like, randomize 1-30 to get the day in a month, 1-12 for specific month and so on... then, it's just a waiting game. Bwahahaaah!
  3. Was there 3? Oh yes... I get games on Steam or GreenManGaming, rarely Gamersgate or Amazon. Not realy keen on using unknown websites for steamworks titles.
