It's one of the best games I ever played, but dev is a dick so don't give him more money XD

Or maybe people should stop provoking his dickish behavior? :D
I'm not saying you have to bribe him and buy his game but people give him shit 24/7 and when he finally gets fed up and lashes back there's a fucking shitstorm coming from that. Geez.

Thats the game where you can't lose and if you fall you get instantly transported back to where you were right? The one with no enemies and is super unique even though Super Paper Mario and many games before it had the same type of plane switching mechanic right?

A great art style? Compared to what? You really think modern retro art is good compared to Metal Slug or Rayman origins? The game play is also terrible just look at the video in hilary clintons post above this one, it explains it better then I can hope to. It is just tasteless to say Fez has good game play compared to other platforms and puzzle games.

I don't compare art styles in games, I like them or I don't.
and why can't you accept the fact that something that is terrible for you is great for someone else?
For example, many people love that Bayonetta game... I hate it.
Also I watched around 30s of that video, it's obviously made by a guy who has exactly the same opinion of the game as you, should I really hate the game because he hates it?

You shouldn't buy it because the dev is a complete douchebag.
You SHOULD get it through trading, let someone else's soul go to the dark side for giving Phil Fish money for this wonderful game.
Anyway, before you do (or don't do) any of the above, check out a random let's play video on youtube for like 5-10 minutes, that should help you decide if the game is for you or not.

I hate braid and fez and bit trip runner. All of them rely on the "indie retro" style to sell copies because the game play is more shallow than flash games on miniclip.com. Another game like these is Limbo. I have literaly never been more disappointed in a game in my entire life, even more so than Diablo 3. I loved the art and atmosphere of Limbo, but the game play was worse than the original Mario and the ending was such a let down after only a few hours of the game.
FTL, Dont Starve, and Hotline Miami, even killing floor have fantastic game play compared to Fez.
Fez is garbage and makes indie games look like garbage relying only on marketing and people who eat up what ever crap has a pretty art style.

I disagree on Fez and Don't Starve (it's a decent enough game, but there's very little to it that wasn't already done by freeware games years ago) but Limbo, well, first, the comparison to Mario makes no sense, it's a completely different type of game. Comparing it to Delphine's games, or perhaps Abe's Oddysee/Exoddus, would make more sense, and in that case, yes, I'd still accept that the gameplay is inferior, and that it's a fairly short game. However, it's not like everyone raved about the gameplay or the longevity - the whole point of Limbo was its art and atmosphere, so if you loved that, then you loved what Limbo was supposed to be and any disappointment should be aimed at yourself or whoever it was who recommended this slow, puzzle-filled, greyscale, turtle/goomba/plumber free game as a Mario clone.

I know the whole point of Limbo was the art and atmosphere, I said that in my post. What I mean by the mario comparison is that in any kind of side scrolling game I expect a challenge and the puzzles and platforming were pretty basic in Limbo. I know there weren't puzzles like Limbo in super mario bros, but they were easier than the other parts of the game like the part with the gun.
The art and atmosphere does not make a video game the game play does.

Yes, it's a good game. The main mechanic is fun (albeit not new), nice art style, great music. Probably a bit short if you want to go straight to the end, but doing it 100% and unlocking all secrets might have you wandering around for quite some time, as some puzzles require thinking outside the box. I think there's even a new game plus mode after completion but I'm not sure about that.
The main downside for me is the fact that you can't die at all during the game. Well, you die but respawn instantly where you left off.
Overall, don't believe the angry nerds and give some money to Phil Fish, he did a good job and earned his cash.

I pretty much agree entirely except that I'm not sure what dying would really add to this kind of game. Would it be checkpoint based (If you die, you'll have to solve that puzzle again!) or like a roguelike (You fell into lava and died at the age of 5. You collected 24 cubes, solving 15 puzzles along the way. Would you like to start a new game?)
