What Better? Battlefield or Call Of Duty??

Battlefield
Call Of Duty

Bumpidy bump.
I like the idea of a (slightly) more squad based system like battlefield over the lone wolf nature of COD. They re both good enough even though I have stopped playing both.

I never really liked Battlefield, the map was way to big in my opinion and not enough to do on it.
Although I no longer play any war related games like them

I heard it the first time. I just thought you'd expect CoD to lose since there's so much hate towards the franchise (but not by me personally). :P

I played both Battlefield and Call of Duty. Both are fun in their own way. But when it comes to which one I prefer, then its definitely Battlefield. The last CoD game I enjoyed was CoD:MW2, it was so good back in its days. In my honest opinion, I lost interest in the entire CoD series after MW2, every game that came out after it wasn't as good. But on the other hand, Battlefield kept getting better and better (excluding Battlefield: Hardline).

As Aluminessence said, Battlefield rewards teamwork unlike CoD, meanwhile in CoD, teamwork is minimum to almost nonexistent. I'm not saying CoD is awful, but its... CoD. In Battlefield, you will see players with different roles actually doing their job in game, like for example medics reviving fallen players, support providing other teammates ammo, etc.

Vehicles in an FPS game are always a plus. You can play small, medium or large maps in Battlefield, depending on how you feel like playing whether with or without vehicles. Oh and don't forget about "levolution", its fun to see the map changing throughout the game.

You will feel the difference between the both when you jump from one game to another. Battlefield will feel a bit challenging and harder when you jump from CoD to it. You will learn not to hold shift to run all the time, you will learn how important spotting is, and so on.

Anyway, if you enjoy team based multiplayer FPS where teamwork is somewhat required to achieve victory, then definitely get Battlefield, otherwise get CoD. If I would choose which Battlefield game to get, I would get Battlefield 4.

See you on the battlefield! Haha get it? no? I'll walk myself out.

After MW2, i lost interest in CoD as well. And my favourite multiplayer CoD games are CoD 2, MW2 (????especially this one somehow) and World at War. I couldn't jump in CoD 1 multiplayer, some people praise UO MP a lot, i'm really curious if there are still active servers.

I really like BF4 but unfortunately my laptop (yeah, the problem is inside of this word) can't handle it.

Yeah! I also played the hell out of CoD 2, CoD 3, World at war and MW2. I haven't played CoD 1 myself, but I guess CoD 2 is a better version of it, maybe?

Oh that sucks. If its possible, build yourself a gaming PC. Nowadays graphics cards are becoming somewhat cheaper as new graphics cards are introduced. Check out for example the GTX 750 ti, it can run almost anything on medium to high settings, some games can go further to very high or even ultra. CPUs aren't that expensive as well.

If you are looking for more details on building one, let me know : )

Oh, thanks. I always intend to build a gaming PC but in the end, i just change my mind. I guess i have to wait a little bit more.

I loved CoD 2 because of their rifle-only servers. "One shot, one kill" is really suits me. Because of that i play instagib mode on Unreal Tournament if i get a chance.

Anytime. If the idea of building up a PC from scratch is somehow overwhelming, trust me, it is not. After building your first PC, it gets super easy to upgrade/build another one. Heck, even Terry Crews built his very own first gaming PC a week ago and he had 0 idea how to do it, but with the help of other users, specially from reddit and facebook, he did. I'm not assuming its overwhelming for you, just thought of it.

Oh if you are into WW2 FPS games with 1 shot 1 kill, you should definitely check "Red Orchestra 2", this game is really awesome if you are into hardcore gameplay. It is really slow compared to other FPS games and more brutal. Plus the community is always playing on hardcore servers, its where the game shines.

I know Red Orchestra 2, it's great! I always like the realism, the idea of "kill or be killed with one or maybe three bullets". I don't like first person shooters with bullet sponges :D I like hardcore and/or slow paced FPS games.

You're right. Personally i didn't build a desktop PC from scratch on my own; someone else did for me about ten years ago. So, I had an old desktop PC years ago until HDD died (it was SATA1 harddisk, i couldn't find any replacement for it, actually i didn't care). I know it's easy to maintain and replace the parts of a desktop PC. I also disassemble my laptop and maintain it but that's hell of a work to do, since laptops are really cramped and there is nothing to do to replace things on your own, even a mere fan (unless you order a cheap part from a dodgy Chinese vendor).

It's really ironic that i'm a game junkie but i don't have a good hardware. Funny.

Awesome! Haha yeah, 15 bullets to kill a player isn't fun at all. Some games even require 2-3 shots to get a headshot kill...

Oh that's way back in the day xD Yeah replacing old parts gets either rare to find or really expensive when found lol

I totally agree with you, its time consuming to disassemble, replace/fix and reassemble a laptop. I had a funny moment once when fixing my over heating laptop. I disassembled it, removed the fan, cleaned everything and reapplied the thermal paste, got everything back and screwed it tight, turned the laptop on and the fan wasn't spinning at all. Turns out I forgot to plug back the fan wire into the motherboard! I had to redo it all over! Just thinking about it tires me lol

Its fine. As long as you are having fun with your current rig, it doesn't matter : ) But an upgrade is always a plus.

I love my laptop but it doesn't mean that it serve my gaming needs right. There is a plus though: Since i started gaming about 20 years ago i play anything fun. So a famicom or a DOS game doesn't slow me down. You know, some people don't even bear to watch old games because they aren't photorealistic :) They miss a lot. Photorealism and fun in our minds ^^

Your story reminded me that i forgot to connect my good old (AGP 8x) Radeon HD 4600's fan wire years ago. When it started to beep, i realize the problem immediately but it didn't take long to fix it since my case had only three screws :D

I have plans to build a desktop PC as i said before but there is a right time for it. Right now, i have some work to do, so, i can't build a great desktop PC suitable for my modern gaming needs.

Yeah, laptops aren't the best when it comes to gaming. Haha those DOS games, old but gold! You are totally right, a lot of the older games still hold up to these days. Some players of the newer generation who overlook those games are missing a lot of great titles. As you said, photorealism isn't everything after all, a good game can be done with minimalistic graphics and can beat any photorealistic game that has no solid gameplay.

Haha I guess we all had that one moment where we were about to screw everything up. I guess being passionate about games and computers in general makes the entire thing fun xD

Take your time with it, but when its done, you have to share the pics and specs with us, I'm sure you will build a monster PC!

Actually i think ,at least, that Hardline can be fun too. I admit that its not the same as for example Battlefield 4 regarding the conquest mode, but some modes are really fun and the maps are quite good actually. What i think was the problem with Battlefield 4 was that some maps were really sided and gave room for a lot of advantages for some classes and vehicles.

Yeah I agree with you, it is fun. But the way I look at it, its an FPS game with the "Battlefield" name on its title. I was considering getting it, but after I tried the beta, it felt like a new game that is trying to be a Battlefield game, not in a bad way of course. It did not pull me into it as other Battlefield games did.

Yeah, maps being one sided has been a problem since Battlefield 3. Some maps have always one side winning 90% of the time, unless the opposing team was somehow better. Even with or without vehicles, these maps, such as Operation Metro, on Infantry mode only can still be one sided. Some might find it boring and unfair, I find it challenging as it forces both teams to work even harder and more together.

I can't vote since there isn't a third option for neither one. I don't like either of these, so I can't give an opinion. Maybe Battlefield, just because I hear much less about it, which is preferable... At least I was able to make a good little bit of change off my Humble Monthly early Black Ops III Multiplayer Startup Pack, which pretty much paid for my entire Humble Monthly for August, so it's the only thing I'll ever be happy with as far as CoD goes, most likely.

It's not that I think they are bad, but I just cannot figure out what makes them great to so many people... I guess I am clearly missing something, kind of like the way I cannot stand the radio or mainstream music, and most people cannot tolerate power or progressive metal. I suppose it's just something I'll never quite figure out or understand, and that is okay with me.

They are not my style at all. I don't like a lot of multiplayer, and the games seem built around the same shell, and nothing really changes. I guess if it's not broken, no reason to fix it. I like sci-fi FPS, or something that is a little further outside the norm - original stuff. Probably the only thing remotely close to either of them that I enjoyed multiplayer on was Red Dead Redemption... and other than that I mainly just play the occasional MMO if I'm going to go completely multiplayer. Even then, most activities on a lot of them can be centered around single play. Just nothing exciting about CoD or Battlefield for my taste, from what I have either seen or experienced in some way or another, but to each their own.

Activision aka Scamtivision can go fk themselves off elsewhere. Have you seen the Price Tag on CoD: IW? Fking Ridiculous Scamming!! Then you got to see their price on that Ghostbuster Game and the 2 Marvel Alliance Game and those 2 games are Poorly ported and Broken as hell and overpriced beyond measured.

Haha, Activision does that every time. They never cut the price of their games properly. Even for 10+ years old, long forgotten games (and they are probably having compatibility issues)

Depends on what you personally prefer really. Battlefield is more team focused and a bit slower paced, while CoD is very fast paced, usually close quarters and there is pretty much no teamwork in it. I like both games equally, but when it comes to playing multiplayer, I prefer Battlefield (the CoD fanbase is also pretty bad, you almost can't go a match without someone insulting someone else).

The thing I don't like about CoD is that they basically release the same game every year (and ask a high price for it), with some new features and maps, but overall they're the same. But I got Black Ops III recently (my last CoD before was MW2) and I'm really enjoying it.

ill take some "Tom Clancy" anything over these too.. in general as for these two i cant say ive touched all of each, but i have deff played a fair amount of each types and i have to say they both over all are evenly crappy.. i did like cod's sp storys, and i did like how much more coop battlefields were, but overall you can find a much better mix of the two put together in several different tom clancy games for a much better price.

CoD for singleplayer, Battlefield for multiplayer. At least I think so, haven't played Battlefield online since BF1942.

Wish they'd abandon the ~modern warfare~ setting and do a WW2/Vietnam war again. Or at least 2142.
Or wait there's the weird AR WWI thing coming? I'm not up-to-date on my bideogames.
