When you do the lower-case q, you loop to the back (right-hand) side instead of looping to the front as you do with "g."

Am I currently learning calligraphy? Short answer: no. Long vague answer: In a way, kind of. I got this empty book from a friend and I'm drawing and writing with different fonts in it. I always wanted to learn calligraphy though^^

honestly I don't think it matters... it really is up to you how you want to write. French kids are taught in schools how to write cursive so you could say that is a sort of calligraphy lesson. However I wasn't born in France so as you can see I can't write cursive. But after checking on my friends' as well as my teacher's handwriting, I don't think what your teacher said is true.

When kid I was forced to do calligraphy. Around them my writing become more clear, but in high school and university, all went mad, but it's understandable :)

Hey, it's a little energetic and erratic, but it has enough regularity to it to come off as a vigorous and forceful style. I like it :3
It suggests a deep thinker being assailed by an onslaught of new ideas and rushing to put them to paper before being overwhelmed.
It is already good, and perhaps could get even better by practicing just enough to make it just a tad more homogeneous.
