[BUG / SUGGESTION] Unreadable Messages in Deleted Giveaways / Discussions

Hopefully I'm not the only one tired of seeing # Unread Messages, several of which simply cannot be read nor do they show up in your messages.
I'd like to be able to view all my messages in the messages section, even if it comes from a deleted giveaway or discussion.

Deleted giveaways... usually the only replies there are discussions about delteting the giveaway so..
Deleted comments in the forum... If the comment was deleted it was for a good reason (it was not a reply for you, they changed their mind about what they had to say, they thought twice what to say...)

I've seen a few discussions deleted on the site before. Usually the OP had included some sort of referral link, which is why it was closed.

In 2 years and half I never saw a deleted thread. Can you give some example?
In the list of permissions it is not even mentioned "delete discussions" so I doubt anyone in the forum (except maybe cg) can do that

He probably means that if a reply is deleted in a discussion then the notification remains. Only cg would be able to remove an entire thread.

It's kinda like a deleted giveaway if I'm correct. I'm sure they exist.

Deleted giveaways are a way to remove fake giveaways, deleted threads are censorship. I didnt even saw a comment removed by a mod (and I saw a lot of hate comments), they just close the discussion. Deleted comments are removed by their own authors.

I've seen (twice, I think) comments that were deleted by cg. They were that toxic!

I'm glad I didn't see them :S It makes sense. Even editing a thread to remove a referral link I suppose. Thanks for the comment!

You also get notified if there is a message in a section you can't read. The message still exists but you can't access it.

You could just mark the messages as read....that would get rid of the notification. Or else if you can view but not go to that page/reply to the message, it would contuse people.

I like those ghost notifications because they are like unsolvable misteries. Lovely.
I don't want to read deleted messages and I don't want people to read my deleted messages. Those are deleted for a reason.

I'm with you on this ! I posted a comment on a since deleted GA, and I know the guy tried to answer me and I never knew what he wanted to say :(
