How about a console game. NZ$9.99 price on a $109.99 Wii game. They decided to allow me the purchase.

One of my friends got L4D2 for $7 at a Target when it released. That was an awesome day.

Nothing can beat the Origin screwup from earlier this year. A coupon gave you 20$ off on a game of your choice, and the coupon could be used multiple times (on different games). So all these games that cost 20$ like Mirror's Edge, Dragon Age and Mass Effect were literally given away for free... I'm guessing a lot of people here took plenty of those games.

I got the $75 Deus Ex Human Revolution Augmented Edition for $5 thanks to the GameStop scandal with them taking codes out of boxes and it would have been free if they had given me back my $5 for the preorder but I didn't press the issue.

I got the Collector's edition of Skyrim on Xbox 360 for $15 about two weeks after launch because of a wrong price tag at Best Buy. They didn't want to honor it but couldn't refuse due to some retail law stating that businesses have to honor the lowest price on an item regardless of pricing errors or any other situations. I don't who prices their inventory, but sometimes you can get some good gems there for much lower prices if you really look

Unless there is some crazy local ordinance where you live, there is no such thing as a "retail law" where a brick and mortar store has to honor pricing errors. Its a myth that people believe for some crazy reason. Retail stores honor price mistakes because 1) large chains can afford not making people unhappy, and 2) people complaining too much and loudly isn't good for business.

Some states in the US this falls under "false advertising" due to stores knowingly pricing things one thing on the shelves and another at checkout so this is actually true (Walmart still does this, pick 20 random things and take a pic of shelf price and chances are at least one will be higher at checkout). Also... 1) Large chains HAVE been shut down here in Texas (where this is a firm law) for this practice (though not in the last few years) and 2) In the modern world it takes a single person gone viral somehow or a million plus to make a real difference.

Like the title. I'm not talking about a deal from a friend or a guy selling keys that fell off the back of a truck.
I picked up Sleeping Dogs from steam when they accidentally marked it down 90%... best $2 and change I ever spent IMO.
Also remember picking up 2 copies of Terraria when it first went on sale after release for 75% off which was then changed to 50% shortly after.
It Pays to watch fresh deals go up $$
