I've been playing L4D2 for about 6 years. I personally play Scavenge Mode which has a very small but devoted community. To me it's a real shame since this mode on Rooftop Map has an immense potential, with strict teamwork required and a ton of fun on even games within the pro community.

The previous statements are practically irrelevant to this topic XD

My problem is, because of the community being so small, and my gaming hours being so inconvenient, having to switch to USA region during the nighttime to find games. I've been doing this for about 3 years now. I've actually gathered most of the pro players in the US scene in my friendlist.

It used to be pretty easy. There was 2 options:

  • Switch the download region on Steam, restart Steam, and any servers found by the interface browser would be from the USA.
  • Execute the command "openserverbrowser" on the console, and find about 6000 servers from all over the world.

My problem now and the reason for this topic is:

  • Since a year and a half, "openserverbrowser" is only finding ~1000 servers, most of which are empty. And no, it's not about the servers being closed over time. I can see my US friends ingame, and "openserverbrowser" won't find them. This used to be very useful as most good games would be full, and you could set yourself on autojoin so if anyone leaves you take the empty slot.

Any clue about what can be causing this and how to fix it?

Thanks a lot for your time.
