So for some reason I can't use voice chat. Everything else seems to work fine. It's just that garry's mod pretty much loses all it's fun without talking to other people on trouble in terrorist town or darkRP for example. The options are actually sort of fucked up too and I have no idea why.

A 1 minute video may explain / help a bit more (annotations on please): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoyLDdMFwe0

Does anybody else have this bug and does anyone know how to fix it? Thanks for reading and help is REALLY apreciated.

Have you got a key bound to push to talk?

Edit: Just watched the vid. Try switching to windowed mode. It should allow you to see the menu sliders properly.

Have you tried pressing the Push-To-Talk key while doing the microphone test?
Also: Set your key binds to default and see if that helps

Does your mic work outside of steam?
Try rebinding the button and check the mic under steam settings?

Just so you know, binding your Steam and source games to push-and-talk inexplicably causes it not to function on some systems. Try disabling push-to-talk on Steam if it's on and only have it used in-game.

If not, then I'm not sure what's going on unless you have the microphone in-game selected to the wrong jack.

Push to talk was already and still is disabled on steam itself. In-game it's on. The right (and only) microphone is already set on steam itself. But how do you do that in-game? I don't see the option.

How many source games do you have installed? I was looking around and these people seemed to have a similar issue as to the one that you described:

Clicky

Apparently, it's a glitch due to them converting the games over and consistency, so try unmounting all source games (should be in the main menu regarding content, there will be a checklist of source games) inside Garry's Mod and see if that fixes it, then start reselecting them one-at-a-time to figure out which game is causing this.
