Will do! That may have saved me a few bucks yesterday! :D

If you use enhanced steam there will be a link to their steam gifts page on their steam profile (under games/inventory/screenshots).
Or you can do:
http://www.steamgifts.com/go/user/76561198042794986
And just use their steamID, 76561198042794986 is mine.

Never trust steam comments. There are plenty of +rep for +rep groups which give any kind of fake positive feedback. Check the user steamgifts and steamrep profiles instead.

Dude, you could have checked his real feedback on SG, he has 11 negative rep.
Second thing, maybe an unpopular opinion, but imo the chance of getting scammed is higher if you trade with someone from a poor country (like your scammer). For them $60 might be what they make in a week,

People should be informed to install Enhanced Steam when they start trading. A quick check shows this guy has a lot of negative reps and is suspended from this site, as well as numerous unconfirmed reports on SteamRep.
Never trust Steam's profile comment section, negative feedback can be deleted, while positive can be bought or traded amongst scammers.
Sorry to hear this happened to you though. It sucks. D;

Thanks for the advice and the condolences. It does stink D;

Comment +rep literally means nothing, because even I could fake you +20 in under an hour with stone age methods.
That user has incredibly negative ratings here, and permanently suspended. Since he only had 3 game wins and all of them are activated, it means that most likely he was suspended for scamming.
He also has 12 reports against him on SteamRep, 6 are still under investigation.
He just screams scammer, really. I'm sorry, but you learnt that:
a) You don't start trading for a 60-dollar game when you have zero reputation, it just puts a large flashing target on you saying "Newbie trader, please rob me of my money fast!" The lowest amount I'd even dare to go for a 60-dollar game is 100-150 rep with zero negative.
b) When you trade outside of SteamTrades.com or barter.vg for a game key, always have Enhanced Steam installed (it only works on Chromium-based browsers now) and check the other's SteamGifts and SteamRep profile through their Steam profile page, not some random link they post in chat.

+Rep on profile is never something to go along with ,
If you are part of those random shity groups that you get asked to join in for gleam giveaways you can easily notice ppl begging for rep there .
Ppl either flat out just beg for the free rep , go for a Rep for Rep aproach , or crate giveaways where you need to leave them +rep in order to enter ,
And you will get surprised how many ppl actually fall for that stuff and go along with it ...
To be fair , trading is a risky business .... seen ppl who seem totally legit go rogue for as less as 0.50 worth of trading cards ...
it sux you got scammed , but i guess thats may be a good thing for the future . Learning the hard way to always doubt everyone just a tad bit extra :)

An example of why you don't trust +reps on steam:

Hey guys, me too i've just gor scammed. Thanks for the Enhanched Steam tip. Didn't know there was something like that around.

Not ironic at all, the suspension happened due to things that happened a while ago. The scamming also had nothing to do with the suspension. Best I can see, you are joking about alliteration..?

I want to help people out, that's a good thing right? I recently learned the hard way to trading. For goodness sakes, do not trade outside the trading window on steam, unless it is someone you know. This guy; <removed by me, (considered calling out? What? lol)> has recently scammed me. I wanted an Overwatch: Origins edition key, for $60 steam wallet. He seemed REALLY reputable, I mean.. Look at that comment section. He must be a good trader, but a dishonest one at that. I trusted him, so I went first. I bought a p2000 Handgun minimal wear, for $60. Next second I know, he blocked me. Stupid me, I know. I deserved this one. I'm not asking for money, nor am I asking for revenge on him (then again, I wouldn't stop you). My only wish is that someone learns from my mistake. However, I eventually just used my credit card to buy it from Blizzard. $120 for one game? It wasn't worth it.
Edit: Thanks guys, I now know not to look at the +reps. Why is it a thing then? To fool people like me I guess. ;_;
