Properties -> Updates -> Do not automatically update this game.

How difficult can this be?

Except a) I've tried that and it literally did nothing, b) once it starts, good luck stopping it cleanly, c) new install? Fuggedaboutit.

Why are you responding to him? He hasn't said anything wrong.

It's completely the OP's fault for wording it incorrectly..........

I dont think that you can cancel it you can delete it after it is done though by going to the file manager from the launcher.

My supposed limit is 250GB+ each month, and in the 3 years we have had it, I've only once been under 90GB. I'm mainly in the 150GB-220GB bracket.

Cancel it? Just wait a bit... Vanilla Skyrim looks awful. You should apply Texture Combiner Pack (combines over 50 texture packs for best visual experience) - see video for details.

It's not about the time, its about the 3gb download

You can't disable the DLC through steam, but you can force Skyrim to not load the files which is the same as disabling it.
Meaning, you can play without it, but you can't download the game without it, sorry.

As soon as DLC is added to your Game, Steam handles the DLC as part of the game that you need to play it, so it will download it if it's missing and not let you play until it's there, even if the game itself never even uses it.

If you delete game files and then try to start the game, it will "update" to get the missing files, they just use the term "update" for everything, there is no way to stop it, i don't think.

exactly lol, just unplug your internet, problem solved.

or let the 3 gb install and live with 87gb of data left over. u will jsut have to uninstall skyrim to make the DLC go away, THEN reinstallign skyrim will net you another 10gb

It's just that i have 90gb/month including internet. so i definitly don't have 90gb to download and i'm not alone here. So, i guess that i have around 15 to 20gb to download and 3gb is too much

It's a FREE DLC. Maybe if you contact STEAM support, they can remove it from your Skyrim! But i don't know for sure, you can try!

I once tried it out but I didn't like it.
I contacted steam support and after a few days wait, they replied and removed it.
