Question about Giveaway creation

Guys, I need help for creating a giveaway, it's a steam key that I have for the giveaway. Now, do I have to add the key while creating the giveaway? Or do I add the key after the giveaway has ended (if there is such option). I gave away a steam-gift the last time, no idea how key giveaways work.

Don't worry, the key will only be shown after you've pressed "send key", and only to the winner (and you), no matter if you added the key from the start or afterwards.

If you select key, it will require a valid key-code so "1" won't be accepted.
I usually just create as "gift" and change it (by clicking "add key") once the giveaway completes.

You have to add the key when you create the giveaway, but you can edit it before delivery (after the GA has ended) so technically you don't exactly have to add it at first, but you have to remember to edit it before delivery, then.

If you create the giveaway as "gift" you don't have to add a key at creation.
Once the giveaway has completed, you can add the key then if you want.

Games which were given away free are removed from the giveaway creation list. People can just get the free game themself, they don't need to enter a giveaway for it.

whow doing that is surprising AND impressive. This mean the site is abla to locate all the games that where given free.
So the giveway here (in this site) are all games sold also ?

The site does not do that automaticly. If support notices that a game is/has been free they remove it from the list and delete all giveaways that have been created after the game went free. If they notice that you try to create a game for many free games, you might get a suspension as it is not allowed to create giveaways for free games.
