Yes, it was a trial. But I imagine that it was also kept because about 2 weeks after the humble bundle when notch got married when you bought one key you got another key for free that you could share.

Minecraft is the only exception as far as i know. All other games have to be redeemable on steam.

When I create the giveaway, I see "Important: All gifts should be Steam redeemable CD keys or Steam gifts only".
-> "Only".
BUT! I see also the Minecraft - this is not a Steam-game.
So.. I can't understand - can I create giveaways with non-steam (but licensed) games or not?
