Which port do you use?

DVI
HDMI
DisplayPort

My desktop is hooked up via DVI

My laptop only has HDMI and my monitor only has DisplayPort, so I'm using an HDMI to DP cable

My wife's laptop only has DisplayPort but her monitor is HDMI, so she has a DP to HDMI adapter. :) no I don't want to trade monitors with her

HDMI since I bought myself a new graphics card - it didn't support the analogue DVI to VGA cable I was previously using. I have a DVI output but it is slightly different and the lead didn't fit in it because it only supports digital DVI, I don't know what the difference is but I found I got a better quality image from HDMI anyway so happy days...

My resolution is one big ass screen at 1920 x 1080 and a Wacom Cintiq display/graphics tablet at 1280 x 800.

Display Port because it's what is needed for higher quality resolutions at higher framerates

Laptops: nothing. HTPC: HDMI. Old desktop: HDMI (it's hooked to the old TV). At work: DisplayPort + DVI.

Main: DVI 1920 x 1080
2nd: VGA 1600 x 900 (is an old monitor that only has VGA)

My graphics card doesn't have a Displayport and my monitor doesn't have a HDMI port, so I had to buy a DVI to HDMI cable since they both use a different type of DVI port. My resolution is 1920x1080.

Main Monitor uses Display Port 1920x1080@60MHz off main GPU (Except in some games where I switch it to 4K). Main reason is because I use AMD Freesynch to get a better image quality on games where the frame rate drops below 60.
Secondary Monitor uses HDMI 1.3 1920x1080p@60MHz off Secondary GPU - Watch movies/webisodes while playing games.
Tertiary Monitor uses DVI 1440x900@60MHz (Older monitor that doesn't support 1080p) off secondary GPU - This is basically just a Resource Monitor Screen so I can see RAM/CPU/Network Consumption in some apps/games.

I use DVI because that's what my WUXGA (1920x1200) and WQXGA (2560x1600) monitors have. Someday somebody will make another good 16:10 monitor and I'll upgrade all of them (and use DP of course.)

HDMI because I actually use the speakers on my monitor.
If anyone feels like bitching about that, toss me a decent headset instead because mine broke.

Too bad there wasn't an option for using both DVI/HDMI.

I run a multiple monitor setup, I picked HDMI since my main/primary monitor is HDMI and my secondary monitor is on DVI. I think for me at first it was DVI, but when I got a new monitor it was HDMI and luckily my GPU has both a DVI and HDMI port, I think it even has the DisplayPort port as well.

HDMI 1080p. I have a lot of extra cables and spare parts and HDMI cables are very cheap and work very well :)

1x DVI + 1x HDMI-to-DVI adapter to 2x DVI-Monitor currently

DP has freesync option so that would be my preferred way to connect GPU <--> Display in case i eventually upgrade my screens

Hdmi to VGA adaptor, laptops don't have a lot of space for ports so old tech is left behind, ilf monitors are old and hdmi wasn't a big thing then.

What's display port, I never heard of it.

DisplayPort
my 3440x1440 monitor requires it for 60 Hz operation at native resolution

display port because vga ports are no longer existing or cards have some cheap analog ports for them adding mass of input lag (which was 0 in older times with crts). display port for lcd, dvi-vga adapter for crt. plus hdmi for plasma tv.
