Game Series: Wizardry. Even though the original trilogy is now prehistoric, the second trilogy (6-8) contains arguably the greatest old-school first person party based RPG of all time, and the last game did a fairly good, though quite odd, job of converting to modern-esque 3D. It also allowed you to to save your final party for easy exporting to a sequel. Grimrock has shown that the old style still works, or it could make the switch to a Dragon's Age system.
Book Series: Philip Jose Farmer's The Dungeon. It has all the potential to be a great TV series, with all the world-hopping through famous fiction that it does.
Movies: Star Wars come at me!

oh, and I think the time for Watchmen is coming. The angst of the cold war is palpable in the series, and it requires a very pessimistic geopolitical reality to connect. The movie came out at the wrong time (not to mention many other issues)
Doing it as a miniseries could emulate a lot of the literary themes of the comics.

Personally, I just think Watchmen got caught between trying to please the rabid fan base and making it accessible to a new audience, so it ended up doing neither.
It was too long and didn't explain things like Veidts "cat" hybrid to new viewers very well, whilst readers were left wondering why the hell the entire space alien plot wasn't their if they were going to throw in genetic hybrids. Character development was neigh on non-existent, definitely too difficult when the book takes place over a series of decades.
They need to decide if they want to appease the old school crew who'll want scene for scene renditions of the source material(like me...) or change stuff around and add extra love stories to garner an new crowd. They need to commit one way or the other instead of going into some half arsed direction like they did.

I read the graphic novel and watched the movie and I have the unpopular opinion that both are great. Sure the movie and comic couldn't be more different from one another, but the movie on its own is really well made with great acting and cinematography imho.

Even though I haven't watch it's all (on episode 10), I'd love more Firefly! It's honestly brilliant, so glad I started watching it :3

Just started rewatching Bab 5, a show that got some of us through the dire programming of the early 90s. Production values look pretty shite now but it's a great story line and universe. A prequel reboot would be the way to go.
As for Buffy. It's near perfect as it is. And it's amazingly rewatchable. I'd leave that one alone. But Firefly was nipped in the bud and never really finished due to some idiotic network decisions and it would be great if Whedon could actually get to finish what he started.
Not really into the idea of reboots in general though. There's such a wealth of untapped sci-fi material dating back to the 1950s even. But moviemakers are just not taking chances anymore - sad to say.
Well anyway, kudos to Sci-fi channel for finally coming up with a truly good show (since Battlestar Galactica that is).

I'm not so much up for tampering with Buffy(although i'd argue early Buffy is awful), more get some additional material out there, like a new modern game playing as Buffy would be great, or even an open world RPG where you create your own slayer. I think theres untapped potential.

No idea, but just googled and yeah, there's gonna be season 3 coming up, I thought it was over because after season 2 the ending seemed definitive to me.

For me, and this is such a meme, SAO needs to start again full stop.
Incredible first 12 episodes, maybe even 20, it jumped the shark as soon as they left SAO and went real world/into other games.
There could have been multiple series just on SAO, it became quickly unwatchable once they "won" the game. The entire series premiss was sort of resolved almost immediately.
I'd re-do the whole show and expand on SAO universe and give the main bad guy some form of real reasoning behind him.

yeah, during the SAO arc it felt a bit rushed, they could have tried making 1 level = 1-2 episode(s) xD that would make the whole series pretty long, but i think if they keep things nice and interesting it would be great. I didn't mind the multiple world, cuz now the possibilities are infinite :D

I was seriously depressed for weeks when Pushing Daises' last episode aired. Didn't know it was cancelled back then, so it was kind of a shock.

I usually watch the tv shows in spanish (also on that time i followed on tv, not streaming like now) so when they just repeat the first seasson over and over without airing the second one i was like, ok, this is suspicious.... and took a look at the wiki and saw that was cancelled.... T.T

Steins; Gate
Make a Hollywood movie with the quality of "Arrival", if it doesn't break every single record I'll lose my hope in humanity.

They'd westernise it and it'd lose its charm.
I'm hoping for a good Ghost in the Shell film but I bet they'll mess with it too much.
If done right however, i'd throw my wallet at them, steal money to buy a new one and throw that at them too.

Man, I fucking LOVE Dune. You are so right. The movie is so painful, I can't make it more than ten minutes. A universe that truly deserves a resurgence.
You ever listen to the album Geidi Primes by Grimes?

It's not really a good ending that they abondon the Pegasus Galaxy and ignore the threat of Wraith there..

ok
this is going to be long
The first dune movie was amazing. it captured the essence of the first book.
the mini series was nice sci-fi, but lacked some of the stuff from the first movie. yes it covered more.
true, the best books are the first, and the last ones (i'm ignoring the stuff his son wrote, cause just no)
you can make a good TV series out of dune. but the point of the book is not CGI or crap. i mean, if someone makes it, it should be made with as little sci-fi as possible. most of the book isn't about sci-fi technology.
as for the games. Dune 1 was a great adventure/startegy game. it has a 700Mb version with cutscenes and evertyhing. you can still play it today. dune 2 is even better, sadly it's unplayble today. i tried. dune 2000 was crap. and i think most current Strategy games don't come as near to Dune 2. so mmuch so, that i stopped playing that genre (maybe i got old, but finished Dune2, twice i think).
I didn't thought anyone else liked Quantum Leap. that show was super fun. and very "humane".
as for other suggestions? I don't know. books should remain books in my opinion, there are exceptions of course.
cancelled shows? don't know. i have my Doctor Who and The Simpsons, i'm good ;)
I Liked "Jericho" very much, but i doubt it will come back...
EDIT:
Imdb link. one of the best prison shows ever

I am starting this thread because I can't believe we still aren't seeing a series of Dune films, Dune RPGS, Point & Clicks and turn based strategy games.
Its one of the biggest, most intricate space opera's of all time, it blows most if not all other space series out the water. The original Strategy games were a huge hit! The original film was bad, but it was back in the days of doing one film then maybe sequels instead of a Harry Potter/Lord of the Rings/Avengers style of just splitting it into a trilogy. I really liked the mini series with James McAvoy, it was pretty fantastic but it only covered the first 60-70 years and the beginning of the worm kings reign.
Basically, why aren't people all over Dune? My other thought leads towards The Watchmen, the film was perhaps too ambitious for one film, lots was missed out from the graphic novel, not to mention completely changing the ending, SQUID indeed. Series of films or a TV series would better suit it in my opinion, include the comic in the comic as well this time because its integral to the real ending. Don't fob us off with Gerard Butler doing a special DVD copy of the comic aside from the film.
What other huge media hasn't been touched in 20 years(or longer!)or maybe never that really deserves it? Genuinely interested in new ideas I haven't thought of, make me angry about the injustice! Don't suggest things that are constantly re-booted like Spiderman, Superman, Batman. You can suggest things like Star Trek(overdue a new series?).
EDIT 2: It doesn't have to be a movie that needs a reboot or a Game that needs a sequel etc, basically what has untapped potential, for example I can't believe we never got like an open world Buffy choice based RPG.
Edit: Personal list of things needing new media(constantly updated).
