i dont see what the negative to registering is, but you can use a paypal guest account, where you don't use paypal to pay.

The servers has been on maintenance a long time now, so I haven't been able to register, probably nothing negative with it otherwise. Sounds good that you don't have to use Paypal though, read that on the forums. (Probably incompetent people)

No he wasn't. He literally just said, "I don't know."

That would have been an addition to the topic. But that isn't what he said. As I just said, he literally said, "I don't know, I only play with keyboard and mouse."

These are the controls: http://i.imgur.com/3iwJhfl.jpg and there's no way to remap them in game.
If you want to play with a controller, you'd have to use something like Xpadder (you can get the last free version here) to map keyboard and mouse buttons to your pad. Xpadder will work for any game that doesn't have native controller support.

It isn't "just the alpha", it's the full game once it is released. Why would you expect a discount to get to play the game prior to everyone else playing the game? And why would you assume purchasing it during the alpha wouldn't also give you the full game once it's released? It's even right there in their Twitter feed and on the website AND in several forum posts!

Because it says the alpha will be cheaper than the beta, and the beta will be cheaper than the full game. It's the same system Minecraft used. If I remember correctly, Minecraft was about $10 for Alpha, and $20 for Beta. Now it's about $25, I think.
Also, I guess I didn't phrase it right. I knew it was for the entire game.

Because the game is in alpha and by playing the game in that state you provide the developers with a lot of useful data that enables them to make the final product better. By buying early you also provide them much needed funds to continue development.
Game developers frequently let people play alpha and beta versions for free because the data they get is so useful. In fact, if gamers weren't so eager to play these games they'd probably be willing to pay for beta testers if they had to (but I'm sure they're happy they don't have to do this)

That won't be until 2014 but if you wait that long then definitely do it!

Anyone know if the price will go up once it's released or is it a fixed price?

..It's nothing like minecraft. At least terraria and starmade have mining, LITERALLY the only similarity between MC and Cubeworld is the fact they use cubes, but that's a stretch. Minecraft uses polygons, cubeworld uses voxels. In cubeworld, you can't mine (or at least, not like in MC.), and you can't build.

i agree, sure it "looks" like minecraft, but the whole gameplay, interface, its all way different then minecraft.

Yea sorry to say it but jellymans right, its because theres so much people rushing to buy the game whenever they can. Hopefully you get yours soon tho so you can enjoy this great game!

You can always try the free version if you know what I mean. If you don't, I'm talking about pirating the game.

Totally worth the money so far. No regrets. Since you get the full game as it updates as long as $20 is lower than the final price then the alpha price is good.
There is definitely much to add and improve upon but currently you can craft items, travel all around the world, ride pets, tame practically every creature in the world if you know the right food, hang glide, sail, adventure, castle raid, crypt raid, find ruins, find rare gems, mine (find iron stacks in caves and bust them open), play with friends in co-op, etc etc. It is also very stable. For an alpha, this is a Rolls-Royce in terms of features and stability.
Personally, I think people that think the price is too high is stuck on the word 'alpha' or is just used to always buying their games on sale. shrugs

I would like to play it, but it seems expensive for what it currently offers.
Why has no one remembered that Minecraft got famous because of it's cheaper prices while it was in development?

Minecraft brought a lot of attention to voxel-based games in general. I think that's the problem with the pricing for Cubeworld right now. The guy knows he has a massive following and his game had an active subreddit long before it released. He probably figured he could charge that much and get away with it due to the already present popularity of a game that had only had screenshots and videos available to the public so far.
Not the right move, but that's my guess on that decision.

You could use something like AutoHotKey to simulate the middle mouse button on the keyboard.
All you'd need to do is make a script with something like:
if WinExist("ahk_class Cube")
{
MButton::LAlt
}
What this script does is check to see if the game is running and if so, change the middle mouse button to Left Alt. If the game isn't running, it won't do anything.
You can find a list of keys here if you want to change it to something else.

it also looks like minecraft, but trust me, its a pretty fun no matter what it looks like :D
