Does steamgift consume too much time....?

Yes, SG consumes a fair bit of my time. I either lurk around the forum or browse GAs while my lovely games are in my library, patiently waiting for my return.

It happens everytime you find something fun.

Overtime, it fades, though. So enjoy while you still can.

As for me, I find it's fairly normal. I only visit a few minutes here and there alongside browsing the web as a whole. I still play my library and have beaten 17 games this year.

Nah. I hang around here when I feel like hanging around and I play games when I feel like playing.

Yeah!! SG can be a horrible time sink drawing away attention from other (important) stuff :P

I'm nearly always doing at least one or two other things when I'm here,
so I don't feel like the time here is wasted or that it's too much.

I am pretty new to SG and discovered Discussion just a tiny time ago.. I won`t say anything but my Steam play time in past two weeks which 16.2h is..
Also I was planning to open a discussion about this situation..

I quite enjoy to see many games that I did not know.

Only if you talk to people and they so respond in such a manner blah blah blah =p Never use a Yoshi as a means to save yourself like a ship you must go down with your Yoshi no using the poor dude as a safety jump when falling in a pit

I definitely spend way too much time on here. I'm still in bed. I just woke up about 10 minutes ago, rolled over and grabbed my phone so I could check SG before I get up.

It's rare if I spend more than 30-45 minutes away if I am awake. Even when I am playing a game or watching a movie, I find myself pausing every so often to come check SG.

I always check for new giveaways because some people like to make them last only and hour and you get good odds in those. I lurk the discussion boards to see what people are talking about, check the deals section for new bundles, and look everywhere for hidden giveaways and puzzles even though the puzzles take up even more time, especially the jigsaw puzzles I have been doing lately that sometimes take 30-60 minutes or longer each.

Not only does it cut into my game playing time, it also takes up so much time that I don't feel like creating new giveaways. I have a bunch of games to giveaway and I planned on making a train over a week ago after my last batch ended, but I just spend so much time on here doing other things that I can't find the time to do it.

Edit 2: The battery in my phone is getting low. I guess I will get out of bed now so I can charge my phone and turn my computer on to continue the addiction.

Edit 3: Do you ever forget to eat because you are here? I woke up yesterday and was hungry so I was going to make breakfast, but I decided to turn my computer on and check SG before I ate. About 4 hours later I look at the clock and realized I never ate anything. Knowing this, I decide I have to get off and go eat something, but I just want to check something before I go, 2 hours later I look at the clock again... lol.

Definitely SteamGift is like a drug, since I discovered it, the first thing I do after taking my computer, is open SG and stay like an hour checking games, discussions, giveaways...

Yes. But I don't mind. Steamgifts has consumed me entirely in the past couple of years. Nothing matters anymore. I have become Steamgifts, destroyer of free time.

Seriously though, Steamgifts has helped me cope with so much stuff, without any of you realizing it. I don't like mentioning when my life turns to shit, and yet Steamgifts is always there to cheer me up regardless of if I'm happy or sad.

It isn't consuming that much of my time. I usually hang out here if I don't have any game to play or can't play right now or can't go out right now.

It does take a little time, but it's worth it. The community here is awesome!

steamgifts is pretty addictive. you've got the thrill of winning but without the risks of a casino, you've got the ability to get a nice feeling from giving away those games you don't want yourself and the community is friendlier than in many places on the net. but if you find that you're spending more time on steamgitts than actually playing any of the games you win, then you may need to make a drastic decision

you could take some time off from the site and spend some time making amends with your backlog of games. or, the more realistic option, you could invest in a second monitor so you can game at the same time!
