Give America access to a Death Star?
Yeah, great idea.. Good bye world.

"It exclusively limits the use of the Moon and other celestial bodies to peaceful purposes and expressly prohibits their use for testing weapons of any kind, conducting military maneuvers, or establishing military bases, installations, and fortifications."
This(If we ever go to space) is both stupid(Leaving any space we colonize defenseless seems a bad idea to me.....weapons in orbit/etc would be a good idea to defend against rouge spatial bodies like comets/etc even if aliens don't exist.) and will never fly.
"The treaty also states that the exploration of outer space shall be done to benefit all countries and shall be free for exploration and use by all the States."
And this will never fly either, what with corporate ethic being how it is.

The UN also banned torture. Still doesn't stop the USA. :D Why not death star?

A petition "succeeding" just means that it gets sent to the Senate and they vote if the policy is worth keeping. Even if it did get through the senate, good luck building in when you're trillions of dollars in debt.

So I had to look it up and apparently that's true in America, what an odd system. I was basing my knowledge off Commonwealth law, although you do have to petition either the House of Representatives or the Senate separately.

America is the country where they say you have the power to change things but you don't(for the most part, unless you're rich or influential anyways). Protesting laws mean you have to file paperwork and jump through hoops just to protest things you dislike(And even then you usually have to protest a good distance away from whatever it is you're trying to protest.), advertising/schools/the media(either on purpose or accidentally) mold a good portion of our future generations into more mindless consumers who go along with the status quo, the electoral system is set up to keep us fighting against each other over perceived evils of the "other" side(Democrat vs. Republican, major party vs independant, etc.) while discouraging people in different ways from wanting to vote for independant/average joe candidates.....the list goes on.

I think you meant Bush, twice. He fucked the economy up, forcing jobs to other countries, the stock market to plummet, and the bankruptcy of many motor vehicle manufacturers. He took an egg, broke it, gave it to Obama, and now Obama is gluing the shell back together and trying to hard-boil it. Any president put in a situation like that is going to get shit on. It's necessary to fix all the fucked up things in America.
I can tell you how to fix all your problems: Pay your actors and professional athletes much less money, and use that money to fund healthcare and education. Educate your children better so they will have more opportunities than working at Walmart. Get rid of private credit lenders. Outlaw the loopholes around monopolies, and increase tariffs on imported goods to stimulate your economy. Get rid of unions. Use natural gas, and have government-owned gas stations (legalizing and selling marijuana would also boost your government's budget). Place more proportionate tax levels according to income; it cuts off after a certain amount net gain, and Romney ended up paying 14% instead of 35%. Also, don't give tax breaks for donating to charity. All the rich do in this country is sit on their wealth and let it grow bigger, so all you have to do is take it away from them instead of your blue-collar workers who barely make enough to live.
I say all this as a hypocritical, Hispanic immigrant who plays university baseball who will hopefully make more money in one year than you will make in ten. It's not that I wouldn't love making lots of money; your country is the land of opportunity. That's just because it's fucked up, and citizens get absolutely nothing, not even free insurance. I'm moving back to my country after I'm done university.

I don't care how much you may or may not make. Good job on having a work ethic.
In America, we prefer liberty over what people in power want us to do. Considering Obama is spending trillions of dollars we don't have each year going to welfare programs that keep people unemployed and reliant on government programs, thus creating the food stamp/welfare state that encourages a growing underclass to perpetually vote Democrat. I do whatever I want with my money and spend it however I want. Keep your hands off my wallet or I will forcibly remove it however I will. You entitled people angrily speak of the 1% label and the many divisive us-vs-them arguments that Liberals create to get votes, but you never want to pay for it yourself. Why is having a Fascist market economy so important that you support so much crippling regulation and punish the successful companies who don't agree with your views? Solyndra was an excuse to hand hundreds of millions to the executives, while the employees didn't see any of it.

"Pay your actors and professional athletes much less money, and use that money to fund healthcare and education." Destroy the capitalist system and become a communist nation? Everywhere that has been tried has failed.
"Educate your children better" Will cost more money that the US doesn't have.
"Get rid of private credit lenders." So people can't pay for anything unless they have the money outright? Everyone's homeless.
"Outlaw the loopholes around monopolies" Requires building a government law team to find all these and stop them. The trouble with this is that private law teams are always smarter than a government one.
"increase tariffs on imported goods to stimulate your economy. Get rid of unions. Use natural gas, and have government-owned gas stations" all good points I think
"Also, don't give tax breaks for donating to charity." That would reduce the incentive for charitable causes.
"All the rich do in this country is sit on their wealth and let it grow bigger, so all you have to do is take it away from them" That would utterly destroy the economy and cause chaos. The rich would leave and take the money, or cause a revolt against the action.
Free insurance? I've never heard of such a thing.

Im positive this won't get past the house but I still want the petition to be voted on just so that the words "vot on the construction of a death star" will be uttered in the Senate.
