So, my dog chewed the headset's usb cable into 2 parts, not the connector itself. So I have the usb connector with remaining cable on one end, and the rest of it on the other, which then connects to the headset.

This is how the wiring looks like: click

And this is the headset: click [Speedlink Medusa 5.1]

The wiring is something i've never seen before, that's why im unsure about it. Inside blue or green shielding parts, are some kind of white fibres, thats all there is. What do you guys think?

Good luck fixing them, and I must agree, that is a great quality camera, no way mine could get that much detail up that close without becoming a blur :( lol

Make sure there is enough of light when you're taking such pictures. I actually put it directly under 25w or so strong lamp.

White stuff is to prevent stretch (probably nylon). The wires have an insulating coating on them, scrape it off with a knife until you see the bare metal, then you can solder them like a normal wire.
edit: cutting back the white fibres will make your job a lot easier

So what you are telling me, is to put the blue/green wires on side, cut the white inside them, scrap the blue/green off the wires until they're scraped, and and then put them together with other end?

Just one more question, are you telling me to do that by your own experience or is it a guess?

Own experience, but you can find instructions (like this) for fixing a broken headphone cable (I know it's the USB cable that's broken but it's the same in this case) on the internet if you don't believe me :3

I'm not sure what you mean by "putting them together", but if you're thinking of twisting them together then forget it, it's quite likely that you won't be able to scrape/sand it clean enough to get a reliable connection. If you have absolutely no access to a soldering iron or someone who has one then it's worth a try though.

I just wanted to make sure you know what you're saying, before i actually start doing it, no offense. By putting them together i obviously mean connecting the two parts, so headphones will work again! I know a guy with the soldering iron so i will probably ask for ..another.. favour :D Thanks for your help, at least i have the basic idea now!

I can see that this headphone have jacks fo 5.1 system. Why you not plug it to your mobo? Or buy external soundcard with 5.1 output?

I think it's only powered from USB since the USB cable only has 2 wires.
