Mine would be Jak 2. I'm actually playing it now on the PS3, because I hate myself (and I already finished it many years ago on the PS2).

What's yours?

PLEASE NOTE! For the game to qualify, it must be a proper sequel - not a spinoff, spiritual sequel or something. I'd also appreciate if it's the first sequel in a series, though that's not entirely necessary.

Civilization IV for me. I trough 3 were AWESOME, Call to Arms (not the actual Civ-IP though) was very well done and V was back to good old quality of 1-3. But IV... YUCK! I still regret buying it

People are probably gonna hate me for this, but Borderlands 2. The first was okay with some rather stupid humor creeping in through the end, but it had enough seriousness to keep me attached. The second seems like it wants me to take it seriously, then talks about poop and ponies and stuff, while saying out of the side of its mouth "I'm a serious game. No, really, Tiny Tina too."

CoD:MW2 - 4h single player, with worse then a Bmovie storyline.. and all that no-russian 'scandal' was just stupid sad marketing..
Crysis 2 - first one was nice, warhead was better.. the sequel was just a standard fps, with the illusion of free will

I'd be kinda curious to know how many of you go back to play the old games after being disappointed in a sequel.

I completed AC2 for the fourth or fifth time - after AC3 was too boring to bear after about 5 hours in. Relevations were good at the time, but looking at it now it feels like a slightly worse game.

Some sequels I didn't initially liked actually turned out to be pretty nice after playing them again a few months later, namely Civ V and Skyrim.

Oblivion. Not the worst game I've ever played, but it probably was the biggest disapointment so far.
Lemmings 2 was awful compared to the first one.
Settlers 3, and just about any Settlers game after Settlers 2 has been far from as good as Settlers 2.
The Guild II should be mentioned aswell..

Bioshock 2: For me its always been a buggy mess. I've never managed to get past 30 minutes playtime without crashes.

Also Command and Conquer 4. Even Red Alert 3 was better than that crap.

Definitely not technically the worst but as a big fan of the series Silent Hill: Homecoming was an absolute mess.
