Yay, free Doom Eternal on Steam... in April...
(and Q1-2-3, but I've already paid for some of those on Steam I think)

"free Doom Eternal on Steam"?? Really? 😱

Because he already bought it on Bethesda launcher.

This. I don't discriminate against launchers that are not Steam. Even had Glyph once upon a time installed. Still remember Desura. Good times... Anyway, at least Beth will move my games to Steam, unlike some other vaporwares.

damn, i had some nice games on Desura and now it's a crappy flash game site

I had some good games only on Desura. Should have been more diligent about saving them locally when it was apparent Desura was going down.

Now they should fix Arx fatalis to make it playable on steam, cause their "Download free version Arx liberatis and play that instead Arx fatalis you paid for" fix I am not taking.

I had it on my wishlist. Are you saying Arx fatalis from Steam is not working and Bethesda fix is really really really to download it and play different version than the one you bought?

Yes. You can run it from steam, but it is broken, for example no design of health bar, you only get black spot and some other interface parts are broken. After while I gave up, cause it was ruining my old experiences of game. Tbh, I have an original cd for game, so would like to try someday if it works.

In case you are interested in game, check that guide, I believe you don't even buy broken steam copy. It was 1.5€ theft.

Thank you for the info and the link.

It is disappointing if this is not working as I wanted Arx Fatalis and Dark Messiah of Might & Magic for that childhood happy times nostalgia feel from time to time :/

The game works fine with the community patch but it just won't count your hours on steam and overlay will also not work.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Well as long as it works... but why just why if there is a community patch Bethesda won't just implement it into the game from the start...

I don't think they care about Arx Fatalis anymore, just like with any of their older games.

Call of Cthulhu was broken too, had to do some shenanigans to get past a level where you had to shoot at targets that were invisible :D Plus many, many crashes.

Oh if you mean the new one, I think that game changed developers in mid development, it's a miracle it works at all lol.

No idea, would be effort from gog, not developers. But I don't own it on gog.

Not weird, since Microsoft has their own launcher right? I don't see a reason why they would need a Bethesda launcher too, unless there are any benefits I'm unaware about.

Might be over bathesdas ass soon enough to offer money for them to jump ship.

So, will we see the first two TES in Steam?

I highly doubt it. Arena and Daggerfall need DOSBox to run. Unless they pre-patch it to work out-of-the-box, but even then, those two games have been available for free on the website for years. I doubt they're going to put any work into them to release them on Steam with a free price tag

LOL. Nope! I'm really glad they did, though! Along with Redguard and Battlespire!!! I was super hyped when I saw those all came to Steam. Now I'll have a nice Elder Scrolls collection on Steam that isn't just 3, 4 and 5! My nerdy Elder Scrolls heart is singing with joy.

I remember that this launcher caused a lot of problems in the past, probably due to localization problems in different language regions.

Will the tragedy repeat itself this time?

Launcher will be fully dead by May. Will Bethesda games key price crash on grey market? Will those keys activated on Bethesda launcher give steam copies too. How is cross region key activation on Bethesda launcher?

If you took a moment to read the article it answers things you're asking as well as when it's closing, and it's before May.

I know how it's works, i done this with fallout 76, connected account Bethesda with steam and on one day in my steam library is Fallout 76 and bonuses 1, 2 and tactics (or + brotherhood of steel). So they add to your Library games, without needing key activation
