This might be the lowst number of games ever featured in a BaB. Does this put you off?
I've purchased most of the Groupees, since the beginning.
Looks like my first purchase was Be Mine 2 on April 24, 2012
I used to look forward to the bundles, and even found good music at times.
But every year is a steady decline.
Now its barely a hair above DIG bundles.. if that.
(This bundle is horrible, for example!)
Anyways.. a very sad outcome.

Link to the Space Wars is wrong.
This is the correct game: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1176160/Space_Wars/

Huh, I'm surprised to see Waste Walkers and Disgraced there. Those two are legit good RPGMaker games made by a competent developer.
Very much worth grabbing them for 1 buck, in my opinion :)

"Groupees
We have recently acquired new staff for the betterment of game bundles. There will be less shovelware, more good games. Check out the Lock, Stock and Bundle series (next one will be #5). We have already bundled Gurumin, Lethal League, Slime-san, etc.
As for this bundle, it's probably the last one in the BaB series, which has already run its course."

well I will believe that the BaB part at the very least. Since there hasn't been a BeMine since that last BeMine ended.

I want to believe this is true and we'll see the bundles become at least better than India Gala's with the frequency of Fanatical's.
Some middle ground between those two would be perfect.
I'm someone who had a band in two different bundles so I want them to succeed but it's been tough this past year. Especially when talking to the (maybe old?) procurer of games in their chat saying things like "The quality of our games won't improve until sales improve."

Admitting shovelware is halfay towards success tbh. Second half is actually improving. If they reach the quality of fanatical pick or mixes ( Original, indie quality games for about buck each, ) I can see myself checking out groupees again. It's a bit mindbogling how they bundled some amazing games exclusively (or years before others), then just went to GL/shovelware. Dead Synchronicity, Blackwell games, or the early Steampunk ones (my favourite bundle of theirs, one of my first, SP2 I think)

They did it to themselves with their stubborn insistence on this exploitative completely blind pre-order nonsense (a model that no other bundle site really adopted and certainly not to this degree) which I would argue rubbed a lot of people the wrong way and turned them off. That combined with the decline in quality of the titles made for a bad recipe. To me the only reason why game bundles survived there is because of people who can't control their addiction and would buy anyway despite all of that. Once upon a time a looong time ago I was a fan of what they were doing and offering but over time it swung completely the other way. How does that happen? I understand that there are changing times and trends in this kind of business but you have to be doing something seriously wrong to turn what was once an eager supporter against you.
There's also the perspective of the studios that partner with the site to have their game(s) appear in a bundle. Just how many were unhappy with the experience and the end result? I think that was a factor as well. Moving towards true success would require addressing all of these things and not just part of it. As far as I am concerned, unless they get rid of this anti-consumer blind pre-order garbage then things will just go down the same road again.

I see what you mean by anti-consumer, but in a sense it was a better concept than what GMG and fanatical did with lootboxes (at least the price was fixed and you got exactly what everyone else got). I guess the fact that the price increasing and it not being worth it at release price was what made it anti-consumer. The other issue is the prices and value. Release price is too much for many consumers, yet that is what devs and artists want most sales to be based off of. The preorder is what consumers think the bundles are worth, but not what devs and artists would like, but are willing to stomach because it's only for first 24 hours or so. Though for many bundles it isn't completely blind (many of the BABs and other themed bundles had cover images on the banner while preorder). Wonder if Humble got sorta similar backlash for their partly blind scheme that they moved into the Humble Choice where all games were known and you could pick and choose. But yeah the way Groupees decided to operate with bonus goals and usually mixing music and games makes it tougher for Groupees to be sustainable if they went down the purely Humble pricing schemes (since Humble seems to undervalue the music)

Good points there. Humble probably did get some discontent here and there with the Monthly bundles and perhaps it is a contributing factor as to why they decided to move to Humble Choice as you questioned. Though I will say at least they revealed big headlining games up front and you could generally rely on getting quality titles in the bundle so it certainly could have been a lot worse.
To me, more than anything what makes Groupees model anti-consumer is making a bundle not worth it in people's eyes at the post-reveal full price but then offering this discount prior to rope people in to a completely blind pre-order with no real meaningful guarantees of anything, and which all too often resulted in disappointment and feelings of having been burned. Yes, we all understand that at the end of the day one ultimately has the personal choice to buy or not buy, but that doesn't stop it from being an exploitative practice. You also have the choice to buy or not buy cigarettes or drugs but it doesn't stop that from being exploitative either. And this isn't even getting into the whole Groupees subscription debacle.
And yes, the (more recent) mystery trash from GMG or Fanatical is also exploitative which is why I have condemned that as well. Though Groupees has been at it far longer and with more regularity.

With the preorder it was mostly hoping for a good game for the buck, because full bundle often costing 4-5$ for a single okay games and lots of fillers is just off. I think people (including me, for a while) thought it's better worth to gamble 4 times at cheap preorders. At least we end up with more games and bundles, but the quality couldn't really back it up.
Heck, more than a few times even the reveals were around 50% review score, at that point it was a mockery of "enticement": It was a way to ship unbundled games for collectors, that may have lead towards a sharp drop in general quality too.
