pretty much valve becoming greedy shitbirds. i think we all saw it going this way eventually, in the pursuit of maximum profits. expect all future valve games to be locked... what... did you think they were going to let you buy hl3 for under $50? :D

I added a Malaysian copy to my cart just to test (I'm Australian) and it says the copy can only be activated in SEA countries (nothing regarding only being able to play the game from those regions). So...am I correct in saying that if I visit those countries, I can still get a cheap copy for myself and be able to play it when I return home?

In any case, looks like the cheapest non-region locked country is Japan now.

Urm okay. I can still score a cheap copy from other countries in SEA. So much for region locks Valve.

So how does it work? For example - I live in EU2, so I can't even activate CS:GO gift from US?

Now all they have to do is make it so you play with people only from that certain region. Damn, it would be nice if I didn't have to face russian kids anymore. OR even better - they should ban Russia from CSGO - would be less cheaters and less raging kids who call everyone cheaters because they are last in their team and they have 0 reaction.

Sometimes I wish they made something like CSGO Premium Pass, for 50 or 100 euro, that allowed you to play only with other Premium players, just to be free of those cheaters. I would totally buy it (with my CS-earned money of course :P).
I felt like that yesterday, when 4 players of opposite team always knew where I am and when I'm gonna pass the door/corner. "No wallhack, just skill, learn to play, delete csgo, noob".
We were good though, we lost only 4:16 :P

Yes, giving people incentive to not cheat, lets just provide the very generous service of region locking the game; the evil black market of trading cheaper copies has finally been stopped, finally people will be forced to pay the "right prices" set by the "good guys". Not only that but some of you people who get charged extra have the pride of knowing you have supported Valve™.

That is nonsence - i mean: there is no reason why... This game is basically free. You can sell items you can get during gameplay (Game is payd after few days of gameplay and than is it just profit) and Valve have money from each trade. So it is in their own interest to bring this game to each player for as low price as possible. Not deter users with the restriction... Valve probably don´t need more money. :D

Eh, it's a terrible game anyway, if it didn't have market items it wouldn't be very popular. It might be popular among poor people who can't afford AAA games like the original but that's about it.
