honestly not a half bad idea... giving dead games a breath of life

Ghost Recon seemed to be dead with me, I had to install Xfire to find servers, and even then all the servers were in Brazil

He probably just meant it was bad due to high pings ;)

I approve this as I still enjoy a lot of my old games. They don't get bad just because there are new ones out there ...

The subreddit r/Playdate is made just for that! :D

Might try that. Still somewhat more messy that the idea I had in mind.
I was thinking something like selecting a game from a list and then seeing the posts of people willing to play the said game. But I'll give it a try. Better than nothing.

cool idea! how are you deciding which games to show? it might be nice to grab a player's games list and hide games they don't have. i also noticed at least one co-op game i have wasn't on the list.

There are just 30 games, so I just show them all. it's not a so long list, and it's sorted alphabetically. Can't be that hard to find the game you want to play.
Maybe in the future I'll remove from the list the games you don't have. But that would still leave mods and non-steam games.
What game you have isn't on the list? I'll add it asap.

So I was thinking about playing some co-op, so I took a look at what games I have. I found the perfect game to play co-op and have some fun, but then I realized it was an old game. I opened the game, but I got what I was expecting: nobody was playing it.
And it's logic. An old game doesn't have so many users as a new game. But I'm sure that there's someone in my situation that isn't playing it for the save reason as me, he can't find anyone to play it.
Sure, I could post in a thousand forums expecting someone in my situation reads it.
I can't find any site that lets you do that. I would do a site like that myself, but I don't have money to pay a server -.-
So seeing that you already have steamgifts.com steamtrades.com and steamgamrsales.com I think you could make a steammatchmaking.com or something xD
Just a suggestion.
What do you think?
Little mock-up of how the game pages could look like
EDIT: I have a working pre-pre-pre-pre-pre-alpha here http://coopmatchmaking.net16.net. Please, feel free to use it or contance me to add more games. Still very early version. Steam OpenID login coming, along with many other things.
