Any free online rts?

well I dont know if you would classify it as better (I never played AOEO) but there is Spring battleroom which has alot of games (including a updated total annihilation) for free.

I found this which looks like AoE dont know if it fits your needs.
There is also Command&Conquer.
You better do a google search for Free RTS games or something. It will show many lists with games that you can decide what you like the most.
Im sure there would be some good f2p rts games even though dont know it by experience :P

C&C, RA and Dune2000 in one convenient package. Been updated slightly to fall in line with some more modern RTS that are about. Decent online system in place too.

There aren't really actual RTS games like Age of Empire 1-3, Command & Conquer, Settlers that are online and Free-to-play. Really the only ones you could play that are like RTS (sort of) which are the MOBA type of games, for example: League of Legends, Heroes of the Storm, DOTA 2.

Though as David said, Starcraft 2 now has a fully free multiplayer, while limited to the Human race and matches of 1v1 or 2v2. It's called Starcraft 2 Starter Edition.

A lot of people didn't like the way the Beta of the new generals game was going. If you had read ahead and seen what was coming in the future, you would have had doubts about it as well. Really it's very hard to make a Free-to-Play RTS, as any there aren't that many ways of making money from them. Unless you want a few hundred ads and skin purchases only.

Starcraft 2s online section is completely free afaik. All races and custom modes too. Ranked and campaign is locked.

yea, starcraft 2, they just opened up the entire 'arcade' section is all now free.. online games, every mod anyones made, tons and tons of content and worth checkin out if you like rts'. i already bought it long before they opened all that for free but a friend of mine was shocked at the amount of stuff there is for free.
