We got rid of our 1, 2 and 5 cent coins years ago. It was weird at first but now it doesn't even matter.

no 1c? psh. thats ridiculous.
in the UK we still have 1p and 2p coins, hell, in mexico we still have 10c coins which is worth 0.5p

Easy, there is no 1c candies anymore really, and with taxes, it really isn't 99x anyway, so just round up a bit and bam, completely even money, without the horrendous expense to produce worthless coins. Last I checked it cost the US Treasury/Mint 2.875c PER PENNY to produce...

There was a discussion in Parliment last week about removing the 1p from circulation. Whilst it was brief I believe that it's not the last that we'll hear of it. Got to love inflation!
