Tier 1 for now, I guess.
btw does anyone know if I can lock BTA price and wait for next week bonuses? sometimes HumbleBundle won't let you do that, I just want to make sure I can do it for this bundle

it worked for me a month or two back. not sure about now.

Yes, I just checked and the price is locked in.

How do you lock?

Permalink

You buy the bundle for $1 and the BTA price shown at that moment stays with your purchase. You can upgrade later on by paying the difference.

how do you lock in a price?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You have a tab that shows a certain BTA price, then you pay any valid amount and can later upgrade by paying the difference to the BTA or desired other tier. This works for most, but not all bundles, hence people asking.

Kalypso aren't exactly better than Paradox when it comes to spamming the store with bad DLC. Waterborne and Espionage are necessary to get the achievements, but neither is well-made.

Also note that you have to buy from the Steam Store ("Tropico 5 - Steam Special Edition") to get content that key purchasers won't have. ^_^

I can only speak for Tropico 4 DLC, but they seem to be very similar.

Essentially the higher priced DLC will be the only one that actually changes stuff. The rest will add one scenario that won't be fleshed out at all and a few items that'll be pointless, one building that's overpowered and some clothes.

So overall, I'd buy the big expansion and leave the rest alone unless you're a die hard fan of Tropico 5.

That reminds me, didn't you write a review about Tropico 4 being jollier than T5, or am I misremembering what Rebbid recommended XD

Permalink

T4 as a mild T3 reskin is substantially deeper than T5. I'm not saying people can't have fun with T5 in the same way you can have fun playing Railway Empire, but there's not a lot of depth/gameplay in there.
Same might go for Surviving Mars :D

Nothing interesting for me (except, maybe, Orwell: Keeping an Eye On You) so pass 💮

I already have everything from T2, and T3 (while on my wishlist) isn't that good of a deal.

I'll probably just grab T1 for now and upgrade my purchase if the 2nd week reveal brings anything worthy.

Meh, I was hoping for Obduction to be in the Monthly. Guess now it probably won't be, at least not soon ;>

T1 for me, I think. BTA 4.35 right now, still falling.

Very good quality. Best in 4 or 5 months on HB.

Getting tier 2 just for N++, since I already have Orwell, and prefer to have tropico 5 complete. Good tier 1 & 2 for the price and bundle quality though

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Tier 1 is pretty good with domina. N++ is also good but depends on if you want the other games as well.

With how fast the BTA is dropping, they're going to have to rush out that new $20 Humble Monthly plan right away

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I'd recommend T1 just for Rusty Lake: Roots. The Rusty Lake series are the best Point and Click games that I've ever played because of how dark and detailed they are. T2 looks interesting, but already own most. I'd like T3, but $15 is a bit too high for me.
It's a great bundle, but next weeks BTA releases will probably make or break it.

Permalink

Should the Rusty Lake games be played in a certain order? I assume this is the second game.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I'm not entirely sure because the stories are all over the place. If anything, I'd recommend playing them in the order of release date just to be sure. I think a few of the flash games were in a certain order, but I don't know about the ones on Steam since it's been about a year since I played them.

I would have played the refresh page game for a while if they didn't remove the counter and make it inconvenient to check the price. I guess they're making a few cents more like this but meh for making things more inconvenient.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah, in the end we're talking about pennies. I really don't know why I spend a half-hour trying to lock in the lowest rate just to save less than a dollar. :p

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I'm guessing it's just because we can. Low effort entertainment for the primitive parts of our brain. I occasionally also play the Steam achievement game just because it's a thing :)

I just scrolled down a bit to have the BTA price on screen and refreshed with F5. Managed to buy the bundle at $4.15

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Hmm, that's odd. I just tried out what you said with F5 and it works, then I tested what I usually do by hitting the refresh button and it doesn't bring me back to the top of the page anymore. I could have sworn it did earlier. Still miss the counter though :D

From Reddit, dunno if there's any truth to it:

"According to a Spanish forum https://www.mediavida.com/foro/club-hucha/humble-jumbo-bundle-11-605712 , Nex Machina and Human Fall Flat are the hidden BTA games."

ouch, that'll be dissapointing since it's already in tier 1 before

Would be good for the people who missed out last time. I was expecting more Tropico DLC.

Me too. Not convinced that that forum has it right either, but we'll see. Certainly sounds possible.

(Also, is it just me or were those Jumbo bundles decidedly more "jumbo" a few years ago?)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Undoubtedly significantly more jumbo. I'm always feeling a wee bit sorry for myself for not discovering Humble earlier when I see the contents of their early bundles.

I thought so too, until I went and checked my history.... Humble Jumbo bundle 2 - August 2014

Deadlight
The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing - Complete Pack
Galactic Civilizations II: Ultimate Edition
Terraria
Crusader Kings II
Crusader Kings II - Norse Unit Pack
Crusader Kings II - African Unit Pack
Crusader Kings II - Russian Unit Pack
THE KING OF FIGHTERS XIII STEAM EDITION
Legend of Grimrock
Orcs Must Die! 2: Complete Pack
PixelJunk Eden

so Crusader knights +3 DLC
+8 extra games.

If you purchased the full Jumbo 11 you got tropico +2 DLC and 8 games (if its true that two will be revealed)

after looking at that, wouldn't say "considerably more jumbo" but I would say that the quality of games is getting poorer but I guess thats to be expected when they have been doing this for years.
