My personal GOTY
It just got released, how can it be your GOTY already? or was it released somewhere else before?
The game looks pretty interesting (reminds me of Mother/Earthbound), but I won't spend $10 for it. Maybe $2.5 or wait until it gets bundled :P

A $1 bundle game... that was good enough that it's demo from two years ago caused a kickstarter out of fan demand? Sure. Whatevs.
There's a difference between "I don't see the appeal in this" and calling it bundle filler, though I suppose people are in a constant need for an outlet for their salt. \:3/

I love it <3, the art , the music, the humor, yes, the graphycs are simples, but still amazing.

Got it and gonna play it tomorrow. It does look pretty awesome. I knew i'd find a thread about this game today by you on SG :P

Haha yep!
I'll let you know if I enjoy it. I have to write a review for it anyway since that's why the developer sent me the game for anyway!

Depends on whether you mean $1 groupees greenlight reject bundle material, or top-tier humble bundle material.
The former? Heh, your loss I guess.
The latter? I wouldn't be surprised later on.
There's a demo, and a reason there was a fat stack of fanart generated just on the demo alone. Everyone goes in expecting nothing, but a surprising number of people came out hyped for the full thing. It's hardly 'bundle material' when a demo alone had enough impact that a kickstarter was made for the game out of fan demand. A literal case of "shut up and take my money", heh.

Lol. Alright. Yeah, just page upon pages of fanart. A ost clearly with a lot of hard work and effort poured into it, 199 positive reviews out of 199 reviews. Cool gameplay mechanics that remember the lot of your decisions across time spent in the game even in new playthroughs. Memorable characters. Totes bundle material. It may end up in there so Toby can get some more cash, but it's not just some garbage game destined to be there just because it's greenlighted crap. The game didn't get 2 years worth of hype and a 3 day greenlight pass cause it's shit.

Jesus...are you getting paid by the developer? I've never seen someone so salty over a difference in opinion.
This entire thread: "You don't agree with me that this game is FUCKING AWESOME therefore you are totally wrong."

Here's what happened: When I first saw your thread, I read up to this comment ("...remembers everything...") and immediately closed the tab. I feared further reading would spoil something big.
Then I finished one playthrough of the demo. I did a half-violent, half-pacifist run. Yes, the game is cute, writing is good, combat is very original and nicely done. The game didn't give me the kick-in-the-gut that I had come to expect though. All along I was expecting the choices I made to come back and bite me in the ass but all I got was some snark from Flowey and an abrupt end. Aside from combat, the first chapter was pretty linear anyway.
Also, I found Toriel creepy and sinister.
Was I overhyped? Am I missing something? Do I need another playthrough?
Edit: Yeah, ok, two more fast playthroughs and I somewhat see what this is about. But if anything, the demo partially fails to sell the game, at least to those who wouldn't fire it up a second time.

I actually think Toriel was supposed to be spun that way, casting that niggling doubt that she might actually just be trying to lure you home so she can eat you (making sure no other monster got the honour of killing you). Before the full game was out, I had assumed the king had ordered all monsters to attack humans on sight (hence Whimsun's behaviour), and the mention of other monsters being intimidated by Toriel gave me a feeling of discreet wrongness.

Saw Undertale when it was still in Kickstarter, and it looked great. Glad to see it is on Steam now and being well received by the players. While I won't be buying it now, I will add it to my wishlist and hopefully try out the demo soon.

Added to my wishlist and will keep an eye out for it
thanks

Have you played Earthbound? If so, I will for sure buy this for me and my gf to play :). It looks very similar (which would be fracking amazing!).

word! Though the game has some dark themes and death is kind of a omnipresent factor in the game. The game may scare your child. You should perhaps play it first a few times as the video game remembers your decisions across multiple playthroughs and will criticize your and remember what you did in the past. So that may frighten your child and may make them feel terrible about themselves.

features:
Killing is unnecessary: negotiate out of danger using the unique battle system.
Time your attacks for extra damage, then dodge enemy attacks in a style reminiscent of top-down shooters.
Original art and soundtrack brimming with personality.
Soulful, character-rich story with an emphasis on humor.
Created mostly by one person.
Become friends with all of the bosses!
At least 5 dogs.
You can date a skeleton.
Hmmm... now there are 6 dogs...?
Maybe you won't want to date the skeleton.
I thought I found a 7th dog, but it was actually just the 3rd dog.
If you play this game, can you count the dogs for me...? I'm not good at it.
...Date a skeleton huh..

My personal GOTY is finally out on steam, please check it out and maybe consider buying it. Undertale
It's priced at $9.99
If you want to try before you buy, there's a link to the demo.
I am aware the graphics aren't good. However please try to look past them. The game is enjoyable and I think that the gameplay and experience surpasses the graphics.
Also, here's some cool' fanart for the game.
.
the music is good. At least maybe buy the soundtrack on bandcamp since that's enjoyable.
