if someone goes to the trouble of writin' up a lotta words it might be worth checkin' em out, at least when things seem confusing

Well sure that too, though I was really just slamming the tendency people have to skip the initial post when it clearly explains whatever questions they immediately jump to, as if nothing else was written other than a URL.
It's like internet law. If someone goes out of the way to provide the relevant details, then the earliest replies must include stupid questions covering the same basic elements rather than checking if just maybe those words exist for a reason.

Depends where you stay and how shitty is your mailing comp.

Naturally. But for a majority of the world, my statement is true.
Again, this is a postcard not a package. A postcard will not, barring an error, take multiple weeks to arrive.

So, we can spend 50 cents on a stamp for the approximately .03% chance (going off the most favorable statistic I could find to reference) to win a random prize we may not even have much interest in. I guess that's a scenario which'll appeal to habitual lottery players, but it seems like the time expenditure and 50 cents would be worth more to the rest of us.
Prizes for alternative entry via post will be drawn separately within ten business days from the end of the Giveaway Period. The number and selection of prizes for such participants will be assessed prior to the drawing so that a participant’s odds of winning through watching the broadcast and participating via post are equal.

That's so not cool.
Law dictates that to avoid violating No Purchase Necessary legislation on sweepstakes, you have to allow for an alternative, free method of entry which provides odds that are no worse than those of the primary sweepstakes entry method. The fact that Steam tied to, and promoted a sale as part of the event may be why they're abiding by No Purchase Necessary expectations (as any financial gain from the sweepstakes generally qualifies for having to abide by that law).
In short, the odds were never meant to be in our favor, and the mail-in wasn't meant to be a secret handshake method of getting extra odds; it was just Valve making sure they covered their legal bases. In short, they're not going to spend more than they have to (which is also why they implement such an unfriendly entry method as mail-in, to minimize how many extra prizes they have to pay out).
In other news, I can buy a cheap donut for 50 cents.
It's not a good donut. It's barely even a donut. But it's a donut.
And that's good enough for me.
I wish you the best of luck with your entry, however. :)

Fixed? =O

Fixed? :/
It's not a good donut. It's barely even a donut. But it's certainly not a doughnut.
Fixed? :P
Really though, getting anything that properly qualifies as being a doughnut within the States is even harder than finding someone who actually is familiar with that spelling. :X

Exactly right, sir. Although if I remember correctly my commercial law classes (and I admit I was high a lot during those classes) they also have to pay you back the price of postage if requested. But then they usually make it so you have to send them a separate mail for that lol

You pay for the stamp. It’s a card, not a package so there’s no additional postage. Seriously, does no one know how mail works around here?

You're lying. They were way better than the Oscars. Fuck the Oscars! Who do they think they are anyway ?
Full disclosure: I did not watch them. Just poking a little fun at that one dev from A Way out who got overly exited.

Yeah, I was just kidding. Award shows always suck. I'd never watch the Oscars neither. If I wanna see Glen Close getting an oscar for her lifetime work for trashtalking Trump I'll just commit ritual suicide :D

Yeah, coke sounds about right :D
So remember kids: Don't do drugs or you're gonna look foolish at the Video Game Awards. ^^

I'm not going to enter but I appreciate the head's up dood especially since it would lower your chance of winning if more people entered. Happy holidays, and have a great weekend!
