Two questions. First, can we count subsequent playthroughs of games we've already beaten? I have some games in my library that require multiple playthroughs to 100% the achievements, but which I have beaten at least once. I'll start my list with some completely unplayed games in case the answer is no. Second, how does one contribute to available giveaways for everyone who beats a game? I'd be interested in donating for next month or whenever there's a spot available.

First question, depends a bit on the game. A game where you just have multiple endings, e.g. a VN with different endings where you just reload a previous save and make different desicions, the answer will most likely be no. A game where you have to replay the whole game either with a different char or a different difficulty setting and it has achievments for it, answer will be probably yes. Though we usually like for there to be at least 1 other entry that is beatren too.
So basically it is okay under certain circumstances, but not as only entry. If you really have only that one game you want/can play then ask us beforehand and we will tell you if it is okay or not.

I wanted to ask the same question as Tiajma. I've started We Were Here Together last month (which is a coop puzzle-solving game), and finished the game 2 days ago. But to get all achievements you have to play the game again doing the other half of every puzzle. (You have to do at least 7 of 10 chapters but I'd rather replay the first 3 too.)
Would this be eligible? Also I was thinkink about playing Little Misfortune too (has the Story Rich tag), should I put WWHT on the site too then?

1) If you want to complete the game (get all missing achievements) it is usually always okay, even as only entry. Only exception is if there is barely any playtime left.
2) If you want to play the whole game again to get a different ending with a different ending achievement (so we can verify it was played again) it is fine, even as an only entry.
3) If you want to play the game again because you got an unfinished DLC (story DLC's only), it is okay as long as there are achivemenets for that DLC. If the DLC has an ending achievement it is enough to beat the DLC. If there is no ending achievement completion of all DLC achievments is required for it to count. In such a case a note in the note section of the event page is required, e.g. beating/completing DLC XYZ
So yeah since you want to complete your game it is okay, even as an only entry. Especially since you want to replay it completely :D

Update: I just realized the Frozen Fear game has a Hint button that I never used, which makes the game a lot less frustrating! (I had only learned about Hint buttons later on via Artifex Mundi games. :) Well, I think this is very do-able now!

Well, I've finally completed the collection! =)
Turns out the 1st part of the collection (Ice Rose) is very different from the 2nd part (Frozen Beauty) in terms of polish. The 1st part lacks voice acting, a map, and felt like a relatively empty world (and the music was really mediocre, in my opinion!). They fixed all these problems in the 2nd part of the collection -- almost like they took player feedback and incorporated it! :) Either that, or they might have played an Artifex Mundi HOG! :D
Anyway, I noticed that while the 2nd part does have Achievements in-game, neither part of the collection has Achievements on Steam. I have screenshots of the Achievements collection for the 2nd part, and would a screenshot suffice of the 1st part saying "You have successfully completed the game."?

Hey, I have a quick question. I have now played two of my wins but the first was unplayable (broken game, devs are aware). The second, Deleveled, is the hardest game I've ever played. I'd really like to beat a game this month so I'd really like to play Dream Daddy again but get a different ending (the bad Amanda ending) which means I'd have to play through it again. I saw your comment underneath and I think it should be ok because I have to play through the game again to get the other ending.

Starting slow and easy for now with something relaxing. Not sure what else I'll play, depending on the mood
Wow I don't know how some of those HLTB times are calculated but Iron Danger in 10h? I didn't even do half the side quests and I clocked at almost 3 times that! The fighting was a real pain in the a** with odd camera angles. I don't know. Maybe I didn't figure it out and others did. Maybe there were "trainers" involved? It just seems like an odd one.
I mean I took a lot of time on Shadows Awakening because I was enjoying the combat, exploring every inch of the map and doing sidequests that involved a lot of back and forth so yeah ok, I get you can just play the very strict minimum storyline but on Iron Danger, I don't know how people did it. Anyone here played it?

welcome to the event. The game looks fine to me. I have added it for you to the current event on the event page too. We use that to track all the achievements and play time and to distribute the invite only GA links to everyone who qualified. You can log in there using your steam account. When you are finsihed with your games just change the status on the event page to beaten/completed. Then we can check it and approve it.
Generally if the game has no achievements, make a screenshot of the end credits or finishing scenes so we can verify that you've beaten the game.
The comment here in thread is basically so we can contact you if something is wrong with your game entry or if we have questions.
Other than that, have fun with your game. I am crossing my fingers that you can beat it in time :D

While the topic of "beating" endless games is worthy of becoming a source of never ending conflict for our society in our future, Devil Daggers have exactly 1 achievement given for surviving 500 seconds. Being a cutoff point given directly by developer, I'd say this is the point at which game probably becomes only more difficult by introducing more enemies instead of new enemies (so no new content after that), meaning game could be considered beaten at that point.

Well beating endless games is a tricky thing and depends a lot on the game. Usually I'd say either get 25% of achievements or average main story HLTB time, as long as it is not ideled.
So for Sunless Sea that would mean either 15h (new game play time) or 14 achievements.
Devil Daggers I have to concur with sallachim, can't really give you a beaten here unless you actually survived it for the achievement, seems to be a good ending point. It has the diffcult tag for a reason -_-

Eagle island is difficult but manageable, Devil Daggers is brutal. best i got was 70 sec :(

Well once you have beaten it once you can mark it as such. Was always this way. From what I have gathered by looking through playthroughs and guides there is a story mode in this game which at least has 1 (if not several) endings by beating a boss that gives you the end credits. If there is no achivement for this and you do not see yourself completing the game, just make a screenshot of the end credits.

Basic rules for gifters:
1) GA needs to be invite only
2) GA should be finishing in the first week of the following month, somewhere between the 1st and the 7th.
3) Eligible are all people that have beaten a game in that months event. You can find a list of elegible people under the leaderboard post in the event thread.
4) After you made the GA, send me the link so I can add it to the event page and list your game in the event thread. . (you can send it to me on steam or discord if you want, will give you my ID if that is the prefered method)

I've set a game's status to beaten but I keep playing the DLC's which I've bought separately. The time and achievements keep updating on the site. Is there a way to fix it?

They allow you to play your dlcs, you don't just need to play the main game and keep it at that. I don't know if they can stop your stats updating since I never saw this sort of thing pop up before, just put them into idle time/achievements
I'm guessing its deus ex which you are talking about and you even mentioned you were gonna do the dlc too so its totally fine to keep adding to the game. Have fun with it

As Cece said it is totally fine for you to play the DLC's that you have bought and it adding time to your entry. There is no way other than changing it manually as time before the month, if you do not want the time to appear, because it grabs all the time of that specific game ID, so unless it is a stand alone DLC that can be played without the main game it will always add time to the main game.

I'm actually hunting down the DLC achievements now. Main game has only the half of total, others are for DLC and a special game mode. It's too hard for me though, I might give up after I reach about 75% :)

I just finished the secret of monkey island special edition and had a blast. I want to play the second one for next months pagywosg, however I got both special editions bundled from a single SG giveaway. So am I even allowed to enter the event with the second game after already entering once with the first?

There are two type of bundles from steam:
1) those that give you a single game entry (with 1 ID), that consists of several games in it like Deponia The Complete Journey. With those you have to play all of the games to have it count as beaten atm. This might change in the future though, have not made up my mind 100% yet.
2) those that with 1 key give you several games with different game ID's, for example like the HB key for The Bard's Tale IV gave you the games The Bard's Tale IV and The Bard's Tale Trilogy . If this is the case you can play each of the games as a new entry for the event. I would think maybe Games where you run around, if you look for example at the third trailer video on the store page at around 0:57 and following. Also it seems to be very violent in parts, though not sure if you commit the violence (Games where you hurt others) or only others are hurt by other people.

Freaking hell, Evoland 2 can get frustrating. It was a fun enough romp but the platforming is just plain wtf sometimes. Evoland 2 apparently does not have an achievement for its final boss but I did take a screenshot of part of the end credits if needed.

I wouldn't mind the platformer stages so much if the instadeath ones weren't goddamn everywhere. The controls are decent, a bit unwieldy but perfectly serviceable and nowhere close to the worst I've had to suffer through, but the fact that platform stages are a good fraction of the game and the ungodly number of ways those stages can one-shot you means that the game absolutely needed incredible platform controls and not merely decent. I feel like the RPG elements really had to step up to make up for the platforming sections. The TBS portion was an unexpected but pleasant surprise.

it all depends on how many people wrote down their times and what they considered completed. astats is definitely a good alternative if your time is well over that and want something better. Its also good for a couple of games without times like Mystic Destinies: Serendipity of Aeons I naturally assumed it was on the lower side but its good to have it confirmed

Who can participate
Anyone who does not have any unactivated wins, multiple wins or a VAC ban. You can participate even if you don't have any SteamGifts wins, see the "Have already completed all your wins?" below as it applies to this scenario too.
Extra Rules:
If it gives you one bundle of games with one steam ID then it depends. Do they each have achievements of their own (including an ending achievement)? Then go ahead and play them separately. Though make a note in the notes section, so we know what to look for. Non achievement games or games that play continuously (e.g. all entries play through without an ending between them) are not allowed atm since we do not have a good way to track them separately.
