you can go for gamepass ultimate upgrade and an extra month for 1$ or 2 months for 2$ , you buy 1 and all your remaining subscription time will be upgraded as well

All I can say is, I did the 1 month for $1, then used 2 codes from AWA (friend gave me one) that jumped me to 5 months, then I got the 2 month Ultimate for $2, jumping me up to 7 months, and converting it all to Ultimate.
7 months for $3.39... Damn sweet. If you need link for the Ultimate...

Bought it with the $1 deal, and from personal experience, I don't even want it for free. A complete waste of time, the Windows Store is a disaster I never wish to have the dreadful experience of using ever again.

its a new app, finally free of the shackles of windows store, except in order to install xbox launcher (beta), you still need it for that
and if anyone is like me, there's one last forced w10 update waiting at the WStore
the new launchr is more or less like Origin, but this subscription has better games
things are easy to find and install. Customization and a few other things are still missing

Oh, interesting. Can you access/modify game files, config etc? This was among my other concerns, as a game not running properly cannot be diagnosed/tinkered when installed via Windows Store. If this is no longer a concern, I'd like to finish playing Metro Exodus. :P

wow, no they are still dropping them under WindowsApps, apparently. Locked even for the admin.
however, if you try accessing the folder, windows leads you into changing permissions, so you might be able to access it
didn't check so myself, im playing Metro as well, other tahn wanting to remove motion blur, i didnt had much reason to check the folder

I tried everything, but I was locked out of modifying any game file. Being unable to resolve issues on games, that alongside Windows Store not starting up correctly most of the times, yeah... not a fan of the whole "Xbox for PC Game Pass" at this point.

Q: When i activate this one month free will this end automatic without costs? Or does this change in not free membership automatic?
And are the games downloaded completely? I have a slow connection and i would try metro exodus but this will take a very long time to download for me.

You get an option upon redeeming your code to activate the automatic renewal (and get an extra month free). If you do not opt in, you will not be automatically charged. If you do, you will... once it expires. Which you can just cancel immediately and still keep the free month.
Not quite sure what you mean by your other question but yes you download the games and you can play them but when your subscription runs out, you won't until you resub.

You need to input your credit card info (or paypal) to opt in to the automatic renewal to get the free extra month. if you don't want to do that just don't opt in.

Yes, and if you have auto-renewal option on, that is when they will charge your cc for the renewal. So make sure to turn off auto-renewal before that unless you want it

If you couldn't get the free 1 month key, it is still worth the money to subscribe the Xbox Game Pass for PC.
All I can say is the Xbox Game Pass for PC is having a great great value with a lot of AAA titles as well as high rated indie games.
Definitely a much much better choice if compare to Humble Monthly, if you're not doing trade for the games.

CrackDown 3 (apparently only 18 hours to 100%)
State of Decay 2 (looks like its a bit to long to finish in 1 month but eh, still looks good)

Crackdown 3 took me 8 hours to finish the main campaign and do a bunch of orb farming and side missions.
I'm sure the game isnt for every one but it was a nice mindless fun.
