For some background please read my previous post here. The TLDR is that I won a new keyboard (SteelSeries Apex 3 Gaming Keyboard) in the recent Intel Master of Game event but since I don't live in the US I'm unable to claim the prize. So I'd like to give it away to one of my fellow SG users!

To be in with a chance of winning you must:

  • live in the US
  • comment with a photo of your current keyboard
  • include a hand written note next to your keyboard with your SG username and the date
  • there are some other criteria that I will consider when choosing a winner but I'm going to keep those a secret

The competition will run until 19:00 (CET), 3 August

GOOD LUCK!

SMALL PRINT: Once I've chosen a winner that person will need to provide me with their name and address. I'll only be using these details to complete the claim form on the Intel website. As far as I can tell from the competition terms on their site there shouldn't be any further costs related to claiming the prize, but you're entering this competition at your own risk. There is a chance that the form won't allow me to enter someone else's address or the competition falls apart in some other way, so I can't make any guarantees or promises that you'll receive the keyboard. Please keep all this in mind when entering.

If there's no timeline, you might try contacting SG support about this; they've set up giveaways for physical prizes before (Tshirts a few times, maybe a couple others), and they may be able to do that here.

There is a time limit because the prize needs to claimed within 10 days. As long as I'm not breaking any rules I'll use this discussion as the giveaway. Thanks for the suggestion though :)

Ha, thank you. I'm surprised as well. Maybe I scared people off with the "small print"? :)

Bumping for more exposure.

This is very generous of you, BauerBoy, and reinforces the sense of community here. :)

If you don't get any responses before the time's up, I'd gladly take the chance since I'd love a silent switch keyboard (they weren't an option when I bought my keyboard a few years back), but I'd much rather see someone with a genuine need reply here. :)

Thanks CallMeKap. Looks like I have at least one entry now so feel free to attach a photo to your comment and make it official :)

Cheers, but my pseudo-entry was merely as a last resort if you had no other takers, and is now officially rescinded! :P

Fair enough. Thank you for getting the ball rolling anyway :)

Approximately 11 years old Microsoft Sidewinder X4.
I've repaired it once by cutting the cord at the keyboard back about 6 inches because of a wire gone bad.
The "S" and "D" lettering are worn due to too much FPS.
And for the last year I've been making due with the "D" key springiness not working right causing a repeated "D" input if my finger is resting on it with a slight pressure.

Thanks for the GA! Agree to Delete!

I'm concerned they will check the IP you're sending the form from and immediately deny it when they see it's not from U.S. Maybe it would be better to give your info to the winner. Worst thing would be if they disqualified you, like they did with the master keys for non-US IPs.

Good point! Thanks for the heads up. I'll think it over. In theory I should just be able to send the winner the claim link.

Good idea, thanks. Unfortunately, I think their site (or at least parts of it) have VPN protection. Worth a try though :)

Love this idea, it's so kind of you! Images of my poor, falling apart (the keys pop off all the time ahaha) more-than-10-year-old keyboard here https://imgur.com/a/p4s314g

Well, my main concern was that the winner would be able to claim the prize. I guess I worded it more specifically to people who live in the US, but feel free to post your current keyboard and I will take it into consideration :) Thank you for the bump in any case!

I'd be extremely surprised if Intel gives you the keyboard honestly. The wouldn't let people that weren't from the USA get a digital DLC that costs $5, you think they are going to give a $50 keyboard?

I'm really not sure, but I thought it was worth a try. This is why I included the "small print" :)

You stated right here that your account was flagged already.. If your account is flagged there's no way you're going to get that keyboard regardless of what address in the USA you use.

The account shouldn’t have anything to do with the giveaway though. It was hosted through Gleam and has no connection with the Intel accounts used for the other part of the event.
