Are they worth it?
Oh, my bad. On their site it says: 'they work by filtering out harsh blue light emitted by electronic devices such as cell phone screens, computer monitors, TVs, and other devices. They allow your eyes to focus easier, reduce eye strain and fatigue, and improve clarity.'

Unless you still use a CRT monitor, I don't really get how can you benefit from wearing additional eye protection. A 60 Hz flatscreen monitor, regardless of its technology, will wear out your eyes the same. The problem is focusing to a close object and the moving images, not radiation or screen micro-flickering.
But for old CRT monitors, glasses and screen filters like these were commonplace.

They're just the same yellow-tinted sunglass lenses that have been around for a long time already. They'll work for the purpose of filtering out the glare from your monitor, but I find that having a properly lit room and toning down the brightness on my screen works just as well.

I personally would say no. You can always adjust screen settings without having to get any special gadgets. That said, I have never tried them, so I don't know if they actually have any positive effect. I suspect that there may be a niche who see advantages from these, but personally, I think for the majority of people it's probably irrelevant. If you're worried about blue light issues, try https://justgetflux.com/ or something like it to change the color settings of your screen. Otherwise, well, I don't think it's worth getting gaming glasses, but I wear prescription glasses so I'd be unlikely to wear them anyway.

I won a pair from some minor league of legends tournament. They're super effective at making me look really stupid!
I don't really notice a difference between wearing them and not wearing them, and I've never had bad effects from staring at a screen all day (some people I know get really bloodshot eyes, or have trouble sleeping afterwards) so they're just hanging around.
I have to say that yellow tinted glasses are absolutely amazing for skiing and such though, way more useful.

Wasn't it proven that issues with eyesight are related to bad genes not screens/reading too much/other urban myths? And i'm tempted to believe this since i'v both a lot and i'v used CRT monitors 6-10h/day for ~15 years and my eyesight is still the same as far as i can tell.

Just use f.lux and use that to filter out the blues.
Or if you have a separate monitor lower your color temperature.
Tada!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmm I never knew they existed and I'm really tempted now. I lost my last set of prescription glasses so thinking I would be able to not lose these seems foolish. Either way, thanks for the info! Wish I could have provided some to you haha

I have a pair of yellow tinted glasses, but don't use them for gaming. I use them at work, as I sit at a computer screen from 8-5. I never experienced eye strain until I started working there, and I game quite a bit, so it's not like I wasn't used to sitting in front of a computer for long periods of time. I don't know if it's a combination of the computer screens and the overhead lights they use, but I am really glad I got the pair I've been using for the past three years now.

+1
Though I got a pair for anothe reason. Had an allergic reaction once and was barely able to open my eyes in front of a screen( had because university's homework) and it helped. But after it rarely doing it, mainly when I have to stare at white background while writing or reading for long periods of time.

You can get software that changes the colour of your monitor screen (slightly during different times of the day. Reduces the blue light as the night goes on.

This reminds me of a commercial i saw the other day about some "HD Glasses" with them you could see in High Definition xDDDDD, i loved the commercial and imagined that they should try to advertise them as 3D glasses too since you see everything in 3D too xDDD

The same question got asked yesterday in a tech forum, mostly said no and there's an app that does that as well:

Have you heard of IOHawk's segway things? Those are VERY similar to these. "How?" you ask. They are bought in bulk from the actual producer and then sold off pretending it's their own product.

These look like the glasses i wear at night to ride my bike and not getting the light of dumb drivers using their big lights in the city dazzle me.
Not sure if it's the same concept, but they are pretty good when you have plenty of shinning or flashing lights in your eyes.

Always thought it was a gimmick and marketing scheme, but I'm in no position to say anything on the matter.

Hi guys,
I recently stumbled across gaming glasses and I was curious to see if they actually provided any benefit, and if they do are they worth the price.
They say they work by filtering out harsh blue light emitted by electronic devices such as cell phone screens, computer monitors, TVs, and other devices. They allow your eyes to focus easier, reduce eye strain and fatigue, and improve clarity.
I thought I would ask here for some opinions on them.
