Bump and meow. I had back surgery a while back and have no regrets about getting it. The improvement afterwards came slowly but it did come. Best wishes!

Best of luck with the surgery! I hate being laid up...so frustrating. I had to fix one of my knees a few years back, but I can say that the surgery was a major success and after about a year of recovery, my knee is 100% (I go running, mountain biking, everything...it's like my knee is 20 years younger than the rest of me...lol). Hopefully, you'll have as good of a repair experience as I did.

Best of luck and also if i not believe in religion i will pray for you BUT i want ask you 2 thing:
1) How much time is since you start feel pain? i mean when is the first month\year you start have pain then until now?
2) Do you ask to doctor\expert surgery , if by check all your documents x-rays etc. if there is any chance that after 1 or 2 years by do right things (exercize, buy special bed\chair,take medichine etc.) there is possibility pain finish by selph whitout need to do surgery?
Also before to go hospital make surgery, you check very well on internet and with expert what is the best place\country\city for that surgery and then go to the best, not hurry to go "first you find early" if not much urgent first check very well.
i tell u this for 2 reason:
First i have more problem bones, back, legs, arms and many other places too and pain very strong for 1-2 year (i can't sleep at night too and i cry too for pain so strong) but then they go away without i do any surgery
Second i lose my dad, grandad and dog because they go at hospital for people poor and they must go also fast because urgent accidents (cancer https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eternit etc.) , so i'm not like so much hospital to go :(
i enter meta slug x , thank you so much for that giveaway , crossfinger.

I fell down a small flight of stairs 10-12 years ago. It wasn't my fault. A wooden floor was wet, I slipped and slid down the steps. I am in my 30s now, and back then, I probably thought I was invincible. I was okay except for some cuts and bruises, and got up, but the next day, I could'nt move. I bent over to get something and my back locked. I went to the doctor and he said "do more exercise." Um... I was doing exercise, including cycling before it happened, so not sure what he wanted.
Anyway, pain went away after 1 week. Over the years, I got times where I would have back pain for about a week and it would go away again. It was never checked out. They did an xray, but that showed nothing. When this pain started 2 years ago, it did not go away like it usually did. I went to several doctors and none of them took it seriously. They kept telling me different things. I am not fat at all, I may not be the fittest person ever, but... they were just being a little obnoxious.
Since this causes pressure on the sciatic nerve, it doesn't cause problems in your arms. Just your back, hip, bum and leg. When mine got really bad, it started going down one side of my body, into my side, down one side of my bum, into my leg and down to my foot. Eventually, my foot went completely numb and I couldn't feel anything at all for about 10 minutes. The doctor I saw then was like "this sounds like a prolapse L4/L5 disc. She was the one that sent me for MRI. She diagnosed correctly. Then she told me that I couldn't go to work anymore in case I damage it further. :(
Non surgical methods will work for people with a small disc prolapse, but unfortunately not for me. Mine is too far gone. If anyone ever starts experiencing recurring back pain, they should get it checked out properly.
If you're concerned about this pain, ask your doctor to send you for an MRI to see what the problem is. An x-ray won't show up anything.
Wishing you all the best and hope that you get to the cause of your pain.

So, on Thursday, I will have surgery on my back. I have been suffering with this thing since March 2017, and out of work since Sept same year. I was on a waiting list since September '17 and decided to go private by getting out a loan since I'd likely have to wait another year on the public. Nope, I didn't have insurance.
If you pray, say a prayer that all will go well and the surgery will be successful, so I can go back to work. :)
EDIT: It got rescheduled to Tuesday 19th March.
Sorry for not responding directly to all the messages. I have read and appreciated them all. Thank you. <3
Here are a few private giveaways. They will all end on Wednesday since I might not be online for some days afterward.
