Is the only way to obtain the game in english right now? What a pain in the ass removed games are, companies need to make unlimited licenses for already made games for the love of god. Is pretty stupid.

Sometimes it's not even a game license problem. Some games are removed from sale because the license of the music they used expired.

An uncommon question but pretty interesting anyway: what happens if i have a RUS key activated in my account and i try to actívate the same game key but from my own region. For example this AMS2. It get overwrited, duplicated, invalid or what?

Does it match the depots or apps in the package (DLCs are apps - technically speaking)? I think it match the apps rather than the depots.
My guess is that the second case will say that you already own the product and you have to remove your existing license to redeem it

all good, the game is in my library.
but that was the only Time I do that, and just use vpn for like 2 minutes, activate the key turn off vpn, that was all.
the other day I was reading that now steam changes something, and to activate a key from another country, you need to change your country, from your profile, and to do so, i dont know if vpn Will help,
becouse when you do that, your currenxy change, and you cant go back to your original country inmidiatly, you have to wait a few weeks.
of corse, i just read about it, so someone else have to confirm that things are different now.

So I bought this version of the amazing Spider-Man 2, and I activated it in Romania without any VPN. Will I get banned if I play it here WITHOUT a VPN?

Nah it doesn't work like that. The only point you COULD get banned is when you use a VPN to activate a key.
As an additional note when I previously used a VPN to activate a key I couldn't even play it as somehow Steam would detect I'm not in that area when launching the game but I could activate the key XD (both cases I had the VPN on), either way, a region locked key will lose its region restriction after being in your library for 3 or 6 months.

you should wait aproxi 6 month before playing games from other country. somewhere they mentioned it about RU games in EU region. i think it was from kinguin one seller told me that, or so.. dont know it anymore

It may be cheaper somewhere, but I don't know that many russian sites. The lowest price for this game which I know was about 2,5$ from the zaka-zaka.com, but it was 2 years ago. It's hard to tell where you can get it cheaper, because from time when it became unavailable in Steam store the keys became rare. :/

The amazing spider man 2 is still available for sale/giftable in Australia and New Zealand for 40 dollar's. If you find a trader from there they can gift it to you! Thats how i got mine around 6 months ago :) That way its not even the RU version but the normal ROW version.

Buying games from a different region that's region locked and uses regional pricing is a GREAT WAY to get your Steam account perma-banned for illegal trading.

I didnt bump this topic to begin with, but this has been 2 years ago, and then this was a general way to get some games, and after x weeks/months they just reverted to normal copies or something.

I recently tried this trick - bought a UK key and tried to activate it through the browser (Steam client is off, and I am signed into my account through a browser).
As the key was region locked I could not activate in my country, even after using VPN (I did not change my account country though, figured that would probably be a bad idea :) ).
