Really? Was it really necessary to make a bridge constructor game based on Portal?

The game not even being on Steam yet despite coming out in two weeks makes me wonder.
But, to be honest, I'll might check it out. There are other bridge constructing games that are on my radar, but maybe this one offers something the other ones have been missing. Just kinda sad that this is the next Portal thing after six years.

Idk it looks fun? The art style looks pretty and portal-y and this might be just the thing that finally makes me buy a bridge constructing game. Although I must admit that the previous Bridge Contructer games by this developer look less pretty and less fun... oh well we'll see

Technically though, there has been three, possibly four counter strikes, I guess they can get away with that since they never used a number for each release.
But like Portal/L4D,HL have all been numbered for each release.

More like a portal themed game. The Portal games are both great, but a bridge constructor doesn't interest me.
It's still nice that Valves seems to support game developers who want to create portal themed games.

Bridge Constructor Portal will be released on December 20 2017 for Windows, MacOS and Linux as well as for mobile devices. The console versions will follow in early 2018.

Valve has nothing to do with this other than the license, so the thread title is quite misleading. Also, they've done this quite a few times in recent years, I'm thinking of Telltale's poker game that had GLADOS in it, but there are others for sure.

Previous Bridge Constructor were not bad, but abandoned.
Leaderboards not fixed (reported 1.5 years ago and confirmed by devs, but still no patch). Cloud saves don't work. Progress saved in System Registry.
