Drink a Desperados and add a slice of lemon inside the bottle. You will love beer after you try this.

If you think beer is bad, wait until you drink your first shot of Tequila.
If you ever do, don't forget to put salt on your hand and lick it right before taking the shot and then bite the shit out of that slice of lemon. You can skip the salt I guess but trust me, you need to bite into a slice of lemon after the shot or else you're going to regret it.

Tequila shots are the best after you are already piss drunk. But using the training wheels (salt and lemon) is for pussies. :P

I live just across the river in Ottawa. Know where I can buy any of those in Hull? Preferably where the guy at the cash won't look at me like I am disgusting because I can barely speak french lol.

Sure, I live in Hull myself and I usually pick them up at my local convenience store but you can find them in IGA supermarkets as well, you really shouldn't have too much problems finding a store that sells some that is not too far from Ottawa. Some other supermarkets might have them I guess and probably a lot of convenience stores too, just look around and you'll find a store that's not too far for you to travel. Here's the website so you know what brand to look for: http://www.unibroue.com/en/beers
La Fin du Monde, Don de Dieu and Trois Pistoles are all 9% and La Maudite is 8%. They really don't taste like commercial beers so it might surprise you how different the taste is but once you get over it they are pretty good tasting for such strong beers.

Wine FTW
Although a good dark lager... Dat's a good one...

If you are an American, I can't blame you for hating beer. My girls dad lives in AZ and when I am there he always wants to drink the most rancid american made wheat beers. I mean that shit is putrid, and when it is not disgusting it taste like water. What you need some good imported Ale. Innis and Gunn might be good. Also half of a bottle of beer unless that is some strong shit is getting nobody buzzed.
I also really hate that you didn't say what you drank, that is a BIG part of beer. Was it a pale ale? A wheat beer? a dark brew? You can't condemn beer as a whole until you try a variety of different brewing methods and styles. I personally love amber and pale ales. But find most wheat beers pretty gross.
BTW, I am a 23 year old male, and I prefer Scotch to beer anyway.

Beer isn't supposed to taste good. It's a utility drink; you drink it in order to get drunk, not to enjoy the flavour. And you were never going to feel anything from less than two bottles anyway. But then, you already knew that, as the insincerity drips from this post. Nice try, though. n_n

I also like other liquors more, like Wine, Schnaps or Whiskey.
(Sorry if I doubled some things in the last sentence, I'm not that familiar with the English translations of alcoholic drinks.)
I like to have a real taste and this warm burning feeling of the alcohol.
I would'nt say that beer tastes like ass (tbh idk how "ass" tastes)...I think bland would describe it best?
However, as I'm of German nationality and I need to uphold some stereotypes: I LOVE BEER! BEER FOR NEXT CHANCELLOR!

You should try some beer from Czech Republic. Also - for the people who think one beer must make them drunk - beer is not a strong beverage. An average bottle of beer containts around 4-5 % of alcohol. People in my country drink usually 8 - 10 to get drunk

There's nothing better than good pint o' stout. Let's face it - you're lame.

I cant stand beer, ale, whiskey, mead....so many types of alcohol. People always tell me its an acquired taste, but I dont understand why people feel the need to make themselves like alcohol. Why not just drink something you like the taste of? I only really like those "alco-pop" things, because they taste like fruit an not like ass.

Because bitter and sour are tastes too that you can actually enjoy.
Going for familiar sweet and mildly spiced food/drink is boring.
Alco-pop are artificially giving the drink a fruit taste so you are basically still on familiar ground with your choice of drink.
Buy a beer, cool it before, pour a little in the glass and take small zips. The taste and experience is something new, be it as bad as it is. That is why it's worth it.
Besides again there are so many different beers that some are actually quite nice tasting. Not for everyday as the taste is quite peculiar and overpowering but still. Once in a while it's nice to go outside the familiar territory to remind yourself of what stuff can taste like.

"The taste and experience is something new, be it as bad as it is"
It is not worth it if it tastes bad. If I'm going out with friends to a bar, why would I spend my money on drinks that I dont enjoy? Thats like purposely watching a film on your day off that you dont like. It makes no sense.

well, I personally like Ice Tea and made it rare for myself like hell and so it is something special for me. Better than doing the same thing with Alcohol...

and it was the ugliest thing I ever drank in my life (yes it was cold).
-Not even the slightest buzz effect after drinking half of the bottle, took me a few sips of wine to feel it.
-It tastes like ass, I wanted to puke.
I officially give this title to beer - the most overrated thing on the planet.
Wine and Champagne is much better IMO even though I think alcohol overall is overrated as hell.
BTW I'm 20 years old male.
