old news... the game are soo good that we are letting a shitty port pass

I'll sit around for a bit and wait for the angry reviews to come before buying it. Though, I don't think it will be that horrible.

The bright side is, I don't have to purchase a PStriple just for it.

My guess is 50/50. Ill wait it out.

Darker Souls for PC

So, unoptimised and GWFL.
Even if I wanted to play this game, I'd much rather pirate it than have to deal with that Windows Live shit.

I finished gta4 before the final patches. I don't believe it could get worse than that game

most new games available on pc are nothing more than straight forward standard ports, so whats the problem? this is just our lot in life; our cross to bare for choosing the righteous path of being pc gamers.

What were people expecting? They had to get a PETITION to put it on PC. They didn't want it to be on the PC to begin with, so of course they won't give it special treatment.

Some ports might not be all great, but hey at least its still coming to PC with a few changes to compensate for the bad porting.

I'd heard the port wasn't going to be great, but it still beats having to buy a console (there aren't enough games I want to warrant the cost of the console plus how much console games cost vs. PC games on sale)... and then having to pay more for the game on console (as opposed to if I wait around for a Steam sale --- trade value is pointless to me since I don't sell). I also don't care if I need a controller since I typically use one for ports and certain genres anyway.

Yeah, I'm probably not going to buy this considering the most random price rise in Australia from $39.95 to $69.95. I feel ripped off badly. No explanation for the price rise that I know of. Stupid..

Huh, at least they admit to their own faults on it. Though honestly, it would be better for them to delay the game until they can get it fixed. Nothing is worse than trying to get a game released as quick as possible. It's probably the easiest way to shoot yourself in the foot. Just delay the game to fix it, and don't turn the delay into a several year thing.

And? Besides the occasional FPS frop (and blighttown) the console version is fantastic.

Why would they release this but not Demon Souls? I WANT TO PLAY THE ORIGINALS!

I like their excuse: We don't have time to learn how to port games to PC properly before we have to ship this game, so deal with it.

I'd rather a bad port over no port when it comes to Dark Souls. :)

At least From Soft are honest. It also means, if this sells well, they will probably spend the time and resources learning PC Programming/Porting in-order to make sure the next Souls game will be fairly up to scratch.

Basically, he is saying: "The PC port will be shit. We don't know how to do it, but it has to be done, and it has to be done fast, because of all the money we would get." I'm also sure that they'll blame bad sales on piracy.

Been saying it'd be a shitty port since it was announced.

"We have a build and I played it today. FPS wasn't locked on it as it went to 60fps without problems. Was running it on a 5800 series ATI card and it was doing 1080P 60fps most of the time.
Game looks great. I'm a big player of the console version (250 hours +) and can't wait for the final PC version to start a new character!"
