All delivery people (among many other jobs) earn a salary in pretty much every country.

However, it's usually not a very good salary; so they rely on tips to earn a decent living.

When I delivered pizza, the tips were about half my income. (And no, I never stole toppings from a pizza! We got one free pizza per shift worked!)
