Ok so I was wondering what I was doing wrong, but just now I had an idea and tried opening the page with a VPN, and then it showed up the "try for $1" option. So I'm pretty sure it just doesn't work in my region, still gonna try if the $0 promo shows up again, might be able to work around it if I use paypal.

as long if your region is set to either one of these North America, United Kingdom, and Australia... otherwise outside of the region may not have the promotion since IGN sometimes gives region lock games

Managed to get the $0 promo a few hours ago using a VPN and a new account, I made the payment through paypal so it got accepted and the amount was returned to my card within a minute or two, so I actually managed to get a one month trial for free. Just in case I forget to cancel my subscription before the month is up I also turned off the automatic payment from paypal's controls.
Nice to get 20XX, the game I was interested in, for free with a couple extras on top. Let's hope they add some other game to the list in the next few weeks :)

yeah hella sad knowing that they bought out Humble bundle couple years back so knowing them they have alot of keys for games but not trying to give actual good paid games... i doubt IGN get their source of keys from Dev/ Publisher themselves so it's not really that hard for them to ask game keys for an actual good game but they been giving out some cheap/ mid indie games

the problem with this is that it says you and up to 10 random players = no one has or is playing the game so you will be stuck in single player which is not what the game is meant for (prob why it's here to try to boost player numbers)

probably based on your region tax fees atleast $2 is better than $4.99+ for IGN Plus
For me tax fees cost $0.09 before and now cost $0.11 on IGN Plus, other than that i'm based in US but they stopped promotion in some state/ cities so i had to check a VPN to see if promotion is available still
also yeah you should've subscribe at one point for The Talos Principle, Other than new accounts you can create as many as you want and use same payment method to be able to get $1 or $0 trial whenever it does come around

Oh yeah, those are local taxes, I already knew that. IGN charged me $1.10 to my Paypal and then the local taxes on my card added an extra 100% on top for being a digital good, still a better deal than buying the game on Steam tho and I had been looking at it for a few days.
It's kinda sad how a decade ago when I started buying games on Steam we were charged 0% tax on digital goods and over the years it got slowly increased until it reached 100% just a few months ago, I bet they'll continue to crank it up in the future, Argentina sure loves taxing something as soon as it realizes it exists.
