I just wanna trade some of my bundle leftovers for somebody else's bundle leftovers, right? But I can only search for a single game at a time, everyone formats/updates their threads differently, and lots of people don't even include a list of things they want. Maybe they'll give a link to an obnoxious-to-use third party site you can use to find out if you have any games they don't have. Maybe they won't.
Sure, I've got a trade thread, but searching out trades is so obnoxious that I just sit on it and wait for offers. I get the feeling that most other people do that, too, though- meaning there's plenty of potential trades hovering around that will never go through because it's so difficult for the two parties to find one another.
I just wish there was a more robust program where I could, like, input all the games I had available for trade as well as all the games I wanted, and it would bring up other people with compatible lists, you know?
I'm just frustrated today. Thanks for reading.

EDIT: Thank you all for your advice, I've created a barter account and I guess we'll see how that goes. Also, chlorophyll seems to be the most popular view on this subject. Good to know.

Use Barter.vg, it's a LOT better than SteamTrades when it comes to matching you with traders.

Thanks. I created an account and am trying to figure out how it works.

It's simple, click match>mutual matches (after entering all the games you have to trade into your tradeables). Everthing matches (your wishlist\tradeable vs everyone else's wishlist\tradeable). Love that site. 1 trade here vs 17 there in the same time

It's very simple. First go to your profile, click on "Tradable" and then on "Edit" and there you can add all of the games you have to trade (you can also add items such as cards, gems, etc.).

Then you click on "Tradable" > "Match" > "Mutual Matches". That will match you will all traders who want something from your "Tradable" list and have something you have on your "Wishlist".

While it uses your wishlist from steam if you want to look for games you don't have on your steam wishlist (and don't want to add them there) then you can go to your Barter profile, click on "Wishlist" then click "Edit" and add all of the games you want to look for but don't want them in your steam wishlist.

thanks! Even if your answer was directed at op it helped me create an account lol.
Are you allowed to trade keys on there or just steam gifts? Also is there any chat feature or do you have to add the person on steam to talk?

It's doesn't matter, you can trade both keys and gifts. There is no chat, but you can add public comment to offer after you create it.

You can trade keys, gifts and items such as cards, gems, etc.

You can tag your games as keys or gifts and other things (optional). Go to "Tradable" > "Edit" then click on the box (to checkmark) next to the game(s) you want to tag. Tags you can chose are below the box where you input your games. If it's a key you can select the store tag where the key is from, if it's a gift you can select "Steam inventory, gift". There are other tags you can apply, such as what tier do you consider your game to be and other stuff.

When you make an offer there is an option to "add a public comment" in the offer. That's how you and the trader can communicate if needed before you agree (or disagree) to a trade.

The bulk of the site is about bundle key trading.

By the way, it helps a TON if you fill in your tradeable and wishlist properly (you can add more games to the wishlist there, not just the ones on the Steam wishlist). Where the key was from, what tier (or what tier you consider it), how many you have. You can also set up your main account to check which kind of offers you want: any, (barter) wishlist only, any games with cards.
There is also a blacklist, meaning you can put games there you don't want offers for. For example, if you have more accounts, you can drop the ones you already have there.

oh okay cool. Thanks for the help. The site is a bit overwhelming right now so I appreciate the extra info!

It was for everyone at first. Take a few hours to fill out your list. Also, just click on a few random names with many trades completed to see how most offers look like.

So apparently I'm one of several that took your advice and set up an account. The site seems like a really handy tool.

I had a question, though: will people there look at your SG rep, or do you need to build up rep on the Barter itself? (So far I've been surprised how many of my offers have been turned down when I was offering people similarly valued wishlist stuff. Of course, I know you have to expect a lot of 'no's when trading, but I wondered if my lack of rep might be a factor.)

From my experience people only check SG reputation and don't care if you're newbie on Barter and I doubt that changed now. Pretty much everyone there knows about SG and after trade people tend to exchange +reps on SG.

Barter.vg. Yes, I know it was said several times already. But that is still your answer.

Can I trade only a single game?
Yes, although the site is intended for frequent traders.

What does this mean? Does it mean that you can only do 1-1 trades?

It means you can register there to conclude a single trade and forget the site, but the intention is to keep a stock there so you can make many deals in the long run.

I too would like it if the trade section here were improved. It seems to be treated as of secondary priority. Matching of the sort you describe would be great.

I suspect you'll get people saying the matching features you're after would be too server intensive. Even so there are other things that could be done to make the site more useful (I've posted some ideas previously).

Came here to say barter.vg, but I see I'm late. Way late. Still, it does exactly what you want, and it's been working well for me (and if more people would use it, it would be even better). I do admit it was very overwhelming at first (at least for an old fart like me), but you'll soon figure it out :)
