correct me if im wrong but most people win 1 gift for every 200 entries (at least thats what i keep seeing around here), i even saw some guy who won at first..

It depends on how many entries there are. If every giveaway has 500 entries, you can expect 1 win every 500 giveaways you enter. And many giveaways instead end up with several thousand entries. Expecting a win for every 200 isn't reasonable unless you're only going for very low-entry giveaways, such as games everyone already has, DLC for games no one has, games no one wants, or group/private giveways.

There are certainly people who beat the odds, but for obvious reasons, that can't happen to everyone.

It's just pure luck of the roll... it took me near 600 entries before I got my first and only win, and it just happened to be a big one. ^^;;

Decided to give away something in return, so I guess someone will get lucky. :)

It depends on the competition on the giveaways you enter. If you enter giveaways with ~200 entries then you are more likely to win sooner. If you enter mainly giveaways with 1000+ entries then the average time to win would be an AVERAGE of 1 in 1000 entries but it could still be significantly higher or lower.
