A game similar to Forge of Empires but on Steam or maybe Desura?

Hey all. I was wondering if anyone knew of a game similar to Forge of Empires but available on Steam or maybe Desura? Something fairly relaxing & easy going. Already have Civ etc. I bet it doesn't exist but it's worth asking. I just really dislike the model of that game (Buying gems etc, would rather pay one off & that's it) but am finding it quite chilled to play when my brain isn't really functioning properly. Thanks.

Isn't that just a browser game?

Either way I'd go with the original
