So yah..
I've been wanting Home Front: Revolution for quite a while and I see a bunch of giveaways for it.
What happens if I do actually win one and it turns out being the wrong one?
Will the giveaway be deleted or will it count towards my total wins?
Thanks in advance <3

Here's a giveaway for a game I personally really enjoyed <3

And here's another one!

You mark it as not received.

If you win a GA and get a different game, contact the creator about it. Outcomes:
They give you the correct game before 7 days passed. Mark as received, cool
They realize it's a wrong giveaway, and if you agree as well, support will delete the GA.
They ignore / refuse to provide the correct key, wait until 7 days pass and mark as not received.

Sounds simple enough! Thanks for the reply!

In such case you should contact with GA creator and he must provide a proper game or make a request to change the game in GA

I'll do that. I'll just enter them all and pray it is the actual game I'm looking for :P

Oh yeah, as people already said - never mark it as 'received' unless you get the proper game, otherwise site'll suspend you

As long as you don't mark it as 'received', nothing will happen besides you rightfully being disappointed ;>.
You can contact the GA creator and ask for the right key or let him change the GA to the right game, or just mark it as 'not received' after the regular seven days. Since the original Homefront is free at HB right now, I personally doubt you'll get Revolution like that though.

Yeah I have my doubts too but you never know, right? :D I'll just hope it really is Homefront: Revolution. Thanks!

of course it had to be homefront xD just mark as not received and let the ga creator know what happened.

letting people give away free games on sg solved nothing. seems the naysayers were right again. ^^

Partially the problem is that the game can not be given away while the free promotions are up, and that's why people pick different things. At least based on what I see (only a handful of giveaways) people make giveaways for different games during the promotions, but not too many when it can be given away for 0 CV. But that would imply that they just simply don't read the rules, and no rule change can help on people not wanting to read them :\

i still need to hear a good reason for disabling giveaways for games in active promotions... and also for not updating the rules in months.

Agreed. The rules being in multiple languages are also a moot arguement for only having english rules, it takes only 2 minutes to write a sentence about support will ignore non-english tickets, find someone who helps translating your problem if you don't speak english.

Yeah considering after updating they are worth 0 points anyway it's strange that they get disabled at all.
Even love that someone (no idea who) always posts these free GAs (in case he/she is faster than SG disabling the game) and linking to the free promotion...have seen this now a couple of times.
It's a nice way to make people aware of how to get the game themselves.

We had this problem before the change also.. don't think this proves or disproves anything.
